Should Britain pull out of the European Union?

No, because of the several hundred million pounds we get from it every year (against roughly £60million paid into it), open borders, standardised trade rules and a bunch of other things that do in fact make our lives easier.
I vote yes. I very nearly decided to vote UKIP instead of Conservative this year, as my first vote being of voting age. As it happens I chose not to. But I still hate the EU and want beaurocrats to curl up with their red tape and plans for the 'United States of Europe' and just fall asleep, then let someone come along and let a tiger maul them.

The money comes from the difference between the reduced tariffs available from the open trade borders of the EU compared to what all countries would have to pay if the trade boundaries of each country were closed. Economics is fascinating, the more you learn the more it becomes so.
Bulgaria sure as hell can't claim that. That money goes into the official's pockets faster than you can say scandal, and police officers are earning around 200 euros a month.Kukul said:

im going to be quite blunt: if you think you can summarise complex political issues into 5 words, you clearly don't know enough about it, and as such shouldn't be allowed a vote. if your going to argue for or against the EU, at least give reasons, or else your post is pointless and a waste of internet space.Trivun said:
on topic - i am all for the EU. it gives us free trade within the EU, standardise some laws, (which helps on holidays and pan-European business arrangements), open borders throughout the EU ( which some people say "everyone comes to the country and steals our jobs" - to which i reply A - that happens as well if you go to other countries in the EU, if you are the best person for the job, you will get it, and B - more people migrate away from the UK every year than migrate into the UK.
plus leaving the EU now would truly screw the economy of Britain even more, due to A - the monolithic costs of leaving, and B - the import/export tax that would be brought in due to not being EU would drive up food prices ( two reasons - lots of imported food, plus less subsidisation for farmers, meaning they need to make all there money from their crops/meat/dairy, meaning prices go up) plus with import export tax manufacturing jobs would leave this country to avoid have to pay export tax, as that would amount to more, as more export would have to occur than import.
