I have a better question: Should Britain get rid of that old gas bag the Queen? Hands up.

*Hand up*
The queen is great, a nice reminder of what it is to be british. I love the fact that we have a monarchy that is completely for show and has bugger all power.

Personally, I'm all for the EU. They give better standards of living all round Europe and make benefits for its members by allowing various things including an abolishment to shipping tax, allowing companies to increase and grow internationally instead of just keeping to the small island we're on.

I vote yes. I very nearly decided to vote UKIP instead of Conservative this year, as my first vote being of voting age. As it happens I chose not to. But I still hate the EU and want beaurocrats to curl up with their red tape and plans for the 'United States of Europe' and just fall asleep, then let someone come along and let a tiger maul them.

The EU is crap. Simple.
This. I too am tempted to vote UKIP, but also may vote conservative. Hell, anything is better than Labour (except maybe the British Nazi Party (BNP))

Ok im not even from Europe so I really have no say in this but I vote yes. England is supposed to be the coolest European country and the EU really is a bad idea based on what I know about it. My philosophy is that all government is corrupt at some level however even a corrupt government is preferable to anarchy and so it makes sense to have as many independent governments as you can so no single one becomes too powerful.

No, because of the several hundred million pounds we get from it every year (against roughly £60million paid into it), open borders, standardised trade rules and a bunch of other things that do in fact make our lives easier.
wish america could be part of it

The only thing stopping all the nations of Europe from descending into dozens of feuding nation-states is the EU, the stability brought by it is probably one of the main reasons there hasn't been a war in Europe for over half a century.

EDIT: Which is pretty amazing when you consider that we've been trying to wipe eachother out for the past two thousand years.

Pulling out in a time of global recession wouldn't be wise, in my opinion. Stick with the EU until the global economy regenerates itself, and then have this discussion again then.

Something like that.

An entire continent banded together is a LOT more effective on the world stage than a single country, even if that country is Britain.

Well since the world is pretty much gonna develop into 4 'Super States' I would rather be in Europe than Absorbed by America.
