Sony always had the best market for JRPGs. While Nintendo and Microsoft have some solid titles of their own, Sony has the better library overall. (Although, you can't play Tales of Vesperia for the PS3 unless you import the JP version).

I personally bought (or rather attempted to buy, long story) a PS3 solely for the purpose of playing Disgaea 3, so I would have to go with "Yes."

Now there's a battle that I haven't had to fight in a while.
Did you notice that stare down Maka is back. The mood on the threads lately took her out of retirement.
Hopefully I'll be able to bring Nisa back soon.

Thanks for getting rid of the poster, so I didn't have to.
And thanks for the reminders for my above list. I completely forgot that I own Star Ocean 4(haha) and then also forgot Eternal Sonata and Enchanted Arms (I found both to be meh, but they are JRPGs).
Oh yes and one of my favorite (and hardly known PS3 releases) Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
I dunno why I like it so much but its one of my favorites of the PS3 JRPGs. I missed Miki so it was worth it, then again I love Nisa too...

haha the reason I decided to buy a PS3 and not a 360 was due to Disgaea 3 coming out for it.

Sorry but going down a pre scripted linear story is not role playing making choices that affect the story is. People who say all games are role playing games only say that because they know jrpgs are not role playing games and they need that argument to justify calling jrpgs rpgs in the first place.
So what would you call a pre made table top D&D campaign with a linear quest and only one ending? You know, the ones with pre-made characters?

Sorry but your definition of what an RPG is isn't really what I'd call kosher. It's westernized. By your logic, a pre-made tabletop linear campaign with pre-made characters isn't an RPG, which it clearly is.

Wizards of the Coast sells pre-made dungeons delves and has done so for a while. Hell, in some cases its made for a party of 4 players with pre-named, pre-built characters with predetermined classes. All of the enemies and encounters are set up right down to when they happen.

Listen, just because you don't get to choose what you do in a JRPG doesn't disqualify it from being on RPG. You're logic ignores a lot of what makes an RPG what it is.

The PS3 is the console to go for when it comes to JRPGs. Hell, most RPGs released on the Wii/360 wind up being ported with extras to the PS3 for the sole reason of them selling better on the PS3.

Remember when Tales of Graces came out on the Wii? It was re-released on the PS3 as Tales of Graces F and sold twice as much.
