Should I buy Counter Strike Source?

I've been wondering whether I should buy this for a while now. It looks good but I've heard bad things about the community. Also, can you use iron sights?

Well in source every weapon is essentially a one hit kill which kinda ruins the whole choosing of weapons but I really enjoy the game overall.

Iron sights, why would you want them? (no) Crouching steadies your aim, but that's as far as it goes.

CS:S is an old school shooter, there are no aids to your aiming, no regenerating health and it's VERY unforgiving. You'll spend your first few weeks worth of play getting bum humped.

But, the community is so massive you're almost certain to find a server with people you like. It's also very rewarding to try out the mods andlearn the skills to play it well.

So yes, buy it.

Even though it's kind of dated it's still one of the best FPS experiences you can get on the web. I think you get Day of Defeat for free when you buy it, which is also really fun.

I'm not sure about the US, but over here you can get it from a few game stores like Game, HMV etc.

You may be able to pick it up at an Electronics Boutique over there or you could pick up the Orange Box from a KMart for like $30 maybe.

i bouth it even thought i i can't play the CS maps and day of defet wou'nt work for some reason.it's fun for a online only game but TF2 is better

Oh yes, for it's price (which I'm too lazy to look up but am assuming it is reasonable), it's definitely worth it considering all the modded stuff.

Its a good game however I still don't like the community.
I always have the luck of running into people who call me noob and say I'm gay then tell me I'm cheating when I kill them.

Counter Strike Source may be old, but it's one of the best games I have ever played, and its one of the best online shooters out there. Even though it isn't the best looking game and a lot of the community are noobs or hackers, you should really look into getting this game.

That's mainly the AWP, which is probably the cheapest weapon in the game.

There is quite an Elitest culture surrounding any of the Counterstrike games, however, as people have said, you can usually find a group of servers fitting your level if you search enough.

Its fun...
Its unforgiving, most weapons are 1-3 hit kills, depending on range.
Its hard to get used to from say, CoD, but its a good buy.
