Well I've played the trial with a few days left, and now I've come to wonder:
Should i buy WoW and possibly BC and Wrath of the Lich king?

Now this will cost most likely 800 kr, that equals to 80 £.

So my question is, is it worth it, could you please post some highlights of the game/s and your personal views?
I was interested in playing as the rogue, and also, could you recommend a server for me to play on? (not PvP please)

If anyone wants to calculate 800 kr to US dollars the rate is 6 kr for a dollar.

No. No sense jumping on a bandwagon on it's way to the finish line. Try to join up with one still on it's way out the gate.

edit: Just want to remind everyone that I loved WoW and still think it's the best MMO. But as of late it's done nothing but go further and further downhill and there's several other interesting MMOs still in thier early days/ prime or just getting started.

If you do want to get it, there's no need to buy Wrath of the Lich King until you get to a higher level in the game. You need to be level 55 to feel any real difference in the game.

I see mostly negative replies so far... But my vote is for Buy it, use a private server if you don't want to spend any more money, BC and Lich king... better when you reach a high level, otherwise, not so much.

Well, just get World of WarCraft without the expansions until you actually get any higher level. If you like the game then buy the expansions.

The expansions pretty much add new content which are available in the higher levels.

Can't you just find a good free equivalent?
There are no GOOD free equivalents of World of Warcraft.
Trust me, I know.

If you enjoyed the trial then buy the first one if you wish. No need to get the expansions yet unless you want to make a dreanie(sp?) or a blood elf, but for that you only need Burning Crusade.

Buy WoW standard, Battle Chest if you want to play as Blood Elf or Draenei. You get a free month with the box so after a month you'll be sure if you want to continue p(l)aying or not.

Most games cost more and give you less playtime so when it comes to value for (whatever your currency is) it's right there on top.

Yeah if you liked it then play, it does cost but not extreme amounts like everyone seems to think.

Free Realms.

Edit: Of course I was joking, Runes of Magic is, however, a very decent free MMO. One that looks a lot like WoW to be fair.

If you really liked playing WoW, then yeah, but dont go buying all the expansions at once, start with Vanilla-WoW, then when/if you get to level 58, go and buy TBC, then the same with Wotlk, if/when you reach 68, go buy it.

But all in all i'd say start with a free one, Guild Wars for example, its a great start in MMO's and its alot of fun.

Seems that you've missed Guild Wars then, that's what i started with, and its great fun, it's even better than WoW in alot of departments, only major difference is the amount of content, but comparing the price from buying just Guild Wars then being able to play for as much as you want, compared to WoW where you buy it then pay for each month, it's as good as WoW, it all depends on the amount of content you need, so if you plan to play Alot, then WoW is better cause it has more content, but its much more expensive.

No. The gameplay consists almost entirely of grinding and skill is trumped by at least one other factor (ie gear, numbers) in almost every facet of the game. You'll spend hours running back to your corpse to find that the dipshit who killed you is still there teabagging and back up to full health and mana ready to take another shot.

What are you smoking? I dropped enough on WoW to buy a 360 and a set of controllers to go with it. You know what I can do with that investment now that my account is inactive?

Absolutely nothing.

If you liked the trial buy it but you don't need to buy TBC until you hit level 58/60 and lich king until you hit 68/70.

But the only servers I can recommend are pvp servers I used to play alliance on Balnazzar and horde on Trollbane and they were pretty good the last time I checked but both are pvp servers.
If you want a roleplaying server I enjoyed steamwheedle cartel it's a non-pvp rp server.

If you enjoyed it, buy it! Really, you don't need validation from a bunch of nerds online to do something you enjoy, especially if most of them think they can score cool points by insulting it.

So, yeah. If you wanna play, play. It sounds like you do, so pick up the basic box and try it out for the free 30 days that gives you - there are worse things you could spend your money on.

Guild wars isnt FREE anyway, as the person above you was talking about.
Also I strongly suggest buying wow - Just be VERY careful not to play too much or you will be sucked in and addicted.
