Well I've played the trial with a few days left, and now I've come to wonder:
Should i buy WoW and possibly BC and Wrath of the Lich king?

Now this will cost most likely 800 kr, that equals to 80 £.

So my question is, is it worth it, could you please post some highlights of the game/s and your personal views?
I was interested in playing as the rogue, and also, could you recommend a server for me to play on? (not PvP please)

If anyone wants to calculate 800 kr to US dollars the rate is 6 kr for a dollar.
I guess ill be one of the only people that will give a good answer. I got it played retail for a bit and it was worth it. but now i really dont want to pay anymore so i went to a private server and i'm having a ton of fun with it.

buy a gym membership instead. When I thought of all the time I spent on that game I realized if I was exercising half as much I'd probably look like the Hulk, only pinkish and blonde.
In other words, you'd look like this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hulk_Hogan3.jpg].

Why not merely invest in any CCG? Vampire: The Eternal Struggle (GREAT 4 - 8 CCG), M:TG (Great 2 - 4player CCG but a larger sink of money because they keep outdating their editions and you can't play 6th edition because 9th edition is out etc)), 7th Seas, or any other you find appealing?

At least you'll have something tangible.
Do you work for WOTC ? a) You cant play CCG's on the PC b) You cant play CCG's naked c) You can only play CCG's against at tops 40-50 people at a special convention of nerds trainspotters look down on for collecting card games.

CCG's are fun they are not MMO's.

No I don't work for anyone, I have merely collected Vampire: The Eternal Struggle ever since it was "Jyhad" and LOVE it, but that's just me and my personal feelings.
You also say "special conventions".. well sure for the large games but you always can host or have private games among friends or others interested in the local area. Anyway, the MMO gang of people are looked down upon by society as much as the CCG people are, just in a different media light (personal feelings, I dislike Magic: The Gathering).

Case and point, it's Nerdy, but so are MMOS, so they are merely "Different" nerds but all nerds at heart.

Well, I'm drifting slightly to and from WoW.

The turn down was the many levels you need to do most stuff, the upside was all the fun of just running around in WoW, and the ability to JUMP!

Seriously after playing GW for a long time been able to jump is a blessing, and yes i know that GW:2 will allow that, but that will be a long while until.

uhhh.... NO. It destroys your life. I'm in highschool, and the kids who play World of Warcraft?

They have no friends
Well... i'll take offence to that. I play wow, have a raid worthy lvl 80 and a large group of friends of whom I'm the only one who plays the game.

But yer, Don't let other people decide for you. If you want to play it then play it. I have waster my money on Warhammer online and Starwars Galaxies and each time i go back to wow. Play it like it, just remember to keep a life out side of the game.

Hey, if you like the game, you like the game.

Depending on what exactly you like about it, here's what you'll find a little more of if you choose to keep playing it:

-More (and more interesting) instanced [http://www.wowwiki.com/Instance] dungeons .Hopefully your server is populated enough for you to find groups to do some of the more beautiful ones, like Shadowfang Keep and my personal old favorite, Maraudon.

-More zones to experience - If you're only a few days into the trial, you might still be in the starting zone, or just outside of it. Although a lot of the game's charm comes from Northrend and Outland, even the old world (Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor) have plenty of awesome places, though I'm partial to Stranglethorn Vale.

-More people to meet - I've gotta say, most of the people I know certainly weren't met on my trial account, and even though most people I see I feel indifferent towards, you find the occasional rare gem who's quite a great person.

-More interesting talents and skills - Some of the most interesting abilities that Rogues have come from Talents [http://www.wowwiki.com/Talent] and skills that they get much later on in the game (Cloak of Shadows especially!)

-More (and better!) items and equipment - I cannot stress this enough. Even when you're level capped, there's almost always a piece of gear you can upgrade by PvPing or doing instances, raids, or receiving as a reputation reward. Many quests will end up giving you equipment rewards that you can use, so the more you play, the better gear you get.

Now, I could go on a tangent about how I wish I had the 70 + days played time spent on guitar instead of WoW, or my Calculus grade being higher, or completing every new FPS to come out, or practice for Stepmania, Guitar Hero, Quake 3, or Ikaruga, etc, etc, etc...

But you know, for a long time, I actually enjoyed WoW, and perhaps you won't leave it with as bitter a taste in your mouth as I did.

Honestly, who you play with and how much you play matter the most. If you have friends and you enjoy it together, it's a much better game than the monotonous grind that people say it is.

No. No sense jumping on a bandwagon on it's way to the finish line. Try to join up with one still on it's way out the gate.

edit: Just want to remind everyone that I loved WoW and still think it's the best MMO. But as of late it's done nothing but go further and further downhill and there's several other interesting MMOs still in thier early days/ prime or just getting started.
True dat.
I wont try and get people to avoid it though. Now that I don't play it things are so much better and after a while, it gets boring like any other game worst thing is you have to pay more than any other game with the subscription.

if you like games you can hang on to for years, buy it. i´ve hanged on for 4 years now. but its getting a little old now, and i might stop playing. maybe go back to WAR and see if they have fixed the glitches that pissed me off last time.

I'll answer your question with one of my own.

Should i start doing crack cocaine?
BlueTimberWolf is right.. I never played anything more addicting than WoW, and when you manage to quit you realize how empty the gameplay really was.. it is not challenging, it is not rewarding. It is very stable and good created (as with EVERY blizzard product) though. Easily dragging you in the "social live of WoW", which is the best excuse to grind the same dungeons over and over..

I wasted 18 months of my life, playing 30h/week on average.. and you know what's really depressing? I didn't play that much compared to so many others...

I'd say yes, I've played it for a good while and still enjoy it.

Also a tip: Don't mention WoW on these forums since it's kind of a taboo

Try WoW out sure, I think it's good fun, especially if you have some peeps to play it with

and try to take the haters with a grain of salt (and the extreme fanboys too), for some reason it's impossible to think WoW is fine, you either have to praise it as a God or despise it as some sort of evil drug of satan. People are freaks, ain't no mistakin'

Haha, or:
There is people who praise it as God, because they aren't to the point yet where they realize it's an evil drug..
