Should I crack or not?

And before anyone says anything, this thread is not about pirating or cracking PC games or anything of the sort, so let's get down to business.

I am a huge Capcom fanboy. I love their games; they are fun, arcade-y, and all that jazz. And I really like playing Street Fighter 4 on my laptop, but recently I've been thinking, is there really a point to keep playing? I mean I'm still trying to get the achievements, and trying to unlock stuff and all that, but a huge majority of the community for it is gone...and some of the stuff seems pointless now =/ And I really want to get SSF4 (and try out Hakan), but alas I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox 360....

So mainly, my question is, should I keep playing and practicing and hope that Capcom will release a PC version sometimes soon, or crack under pressure and get a Xbox 360, SSF4, and oil up?

Paying that much ammount of monney for the enjoyment of ONE game? no, no way. just suck it up and hope. or wait until theres more games on the consoles that you want.

I would say go ahead and pick up that crack pipe and light the hottest flame you can

But seriously, no. Just no.

Don't play games for achievements or unlockables for too long is something I'd recommend. It may not seem like it but when those become a priority your sense of fun for those games will dwindle. But as previously mentioned don't buy a console for just one game.

Get a console and ask yourself why you didn't years ago.

First of all, Street Fighter 4 is much better on the PS3, (learnt from experience.) Because of course the D-pad on the 360 is awful, and that is used so often on fighting games. Second of all, why would you buy a console for one game?

...Or you can hold off on buying a $300 console for just one game.

My suggestion is to just borrow a friends Xbox or PS3 and decide for yourself if you really want to buy one for yourself.

Yeah, for a bit they extend the enjoyability of the game but you'll hit a snapping point somewhere and will never want to play it again.

If you're interested in other games on 360, then go ahead. If not, then that doesn't seem too smart an investment.

Get a PS3 slim. The system is SWEET and has a ton of other great games. Plus it is a great out of the box media center to stream content from your PC to your TV if you don't already have an HTPC.

Highly recommended.

The main reason I would buy it for the 360 is because I have this already...

And ya, I guess buying a console for just one game is sort of stupid. It's just so tempting, when you see gameplay and stuff for it everywhere...gah x-x

Well, are there any other 360 games you're interested in?

Look at both console's respective libraries and see which has the most games you'd want to play besides SSF4.
As has already been stated, the PS3's d-pad is generally better for fighting games, but that's not really that big a deal.
So yeah, check out games on both consoles, see if there's anything else that interests you, then make your decision based on that.
Because I'm really not sure if it's worth buying a console for just on game, though it's your money.

You should take a look at past, present and future games.

If Xbox 360:
Halo series. (fangasmn for Reach!!1)
Dead Rising 1 & 2.
Metal Gear Rising.
Crackdown.
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Red Dead Redemption.
FFXIII.

There are lots more but that's all that comes to mind at the moment.

And yes, i know some are PC and PS3 too.

Also, if PS3, i have no clue apart from Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet and apparently Uncharted and Killzone
(I know nothing about those 2)

I don't own a PS3. Anyway hope this helps.

The reason they didn't release SSFIV for PC is because of the mass piracy of the first game...because Games For Windows Live sucks.
