Should I get a 360 or PC?

I have been saving money up for a while now and next month I can either get a gaming PC or an Xbox 360. Now before anybody gives a response based on price I want to say that isn't an issue. I have enough for either. I just want to know which one will give me the most entertainment.

On one hand the pc has games like Gary's mod, minecraft (the better version), RTS'. While people seem to like the 360 I know that rumors say the new one will be coming out holiday of next year.

I guess it depends what sort of games your after. If there are some particular exclusives for the 360 that you want then that may make the decision for you and vice versa.

I believe that you should buy neither of those, and instead, put your money towards buying a WiiU! However, if you are stuck with either of these, then PC definitely. You can play so much more on that then the Xbox 360.

If you can afford a gaming pc there's no reason why you can't get a 360 along with it. A second hand console will set you back less than a decent hard drive.

So answer C, both.

I have a PC and 360 and for your money I'll say PC, it gives you wider selection of games in most genres, and even Japanese games are becoming more popular nowadays. Plus the PC will continue to be fully supported in a year or two unlike the 360.

The 360 is best for exclusives or if you want to use a pad to play online and not get trounced by m&k users.

Besides with PC you will save over the long term as the games are very cheap if you're savvy compared where you have to pay for a gold account plus the the sales / discounts of XBLA games are almost none existant nowadays.

I can't afford both. Okay I guess I can but I either won't be able to pay for electricity or for any games, which kind of defeats the purpose.

As for the exclusives I'm interested in for the 360:

Bastion, Trials Evolution, XBLA in general I guess, and Halo.

I only want PC pretty much for angry birds and minecraft. I know Xbox has minecraft but the pc version is better.

Bastion is available on PC. I don't know why I just had to go check that when I know I have it on PC.

OT: I'd say PC, there's a whole world of indie bundles and steam and stuff to explore. I love my 360, but I'd say given the choice I'd keep the PC.

PC, definitely. More variety of games, easier access to buying games (with things like steam), better graphics and if you're done with gaming entertainment, it works better for general internet surfing entertainment as well. Plus, some kinds of games just don't work that well with a controller. Namely RTS, FPS and MMORPG games.

One of the main reasons I prefer my pc over my xbox 360 is that the pc just has more interesting games. For instance 2 recent "indie" games, natural selection 2 and chivalry medieval warfare are pc exclusive and provide the kind of gameplay you won't find on consoles. Not only that but most pc games support user created mods which can add countless hours of unique gameplay mechanics that you simply won't find in more mainstream titles.

I've got a 360 and I play more on my PC (Even though it isn't that good)

Ig you want some sweet indie titles, Xbox is ok for that, but PC is far far better. If you want to play Halo, then go for Xbox. That's my answer based on the info I have to go off.

The only thing the xbox has going for it is that it has halo otherwise the PC beats it in about every other category. I mean there is a reason we call ourselves the master race. We have more indie game than the xbla too. Plus it would be cheaper in the long run (no gold + steam sales/piracy if that your thing)

PC. I love PC gaming, quite enjoyable. also the 360 is probably not going to be around all that much longer, couple years or so and while yes, PC you would probably have to upgrade some components at some point, if cost is truly not an issue, you wont have the problem of now you can no longer play part of your library on the happy next gen console that doesn't do backwards compatibility

PC, all the way. Games across history, mods, all the other things a computer can do like internet surfing, word processing, business, you can upgrade it, there's really no advantage a 360 has. And if you want a controller, many games are compatible with the 360's controller, too.

PC is the only correct answer in almost every instance. There's just soooo much more there for you if you went that route. Far more rewarding too, that said it can also be far more frustrating if you don't know what you're doing with it. Judge your goals first...do you want more in-depth, more detailed, more involved gaming that is miles deeper than console or do you want simple in-out gaming with little to no involvement?

The answer to the questions should give you a good result for what you need.

Personally I'd never go 360 if PC was a real option.

EDIT: You could probably get a better intel PC at that price level if you shop around a bit. The GPU is pretty weak too but that is easily upgraded later. It will still curbstomp a 360's performance though.

Microsoft has stated the 360 will be supported into 2016, so you've got a while.

That said, PC, unless you're really into an Xbox exclusive. No matter how good the online is, PC online is naturally better, you have modding, etc, the only practical reason I have a console rather than a PC myself is that I like to know my games are going to work, and if you have the money sorted you don't have that problem.

Heads up though: the majority of people on here will say PC. Without a doubt. There are reasons for that, but that's the result you're going to get right there.
