Should I get a PS3 and/or Xbox360?

I only have a PS2 (and N64) and wanted to buy Black, Killzone, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time which I had heard are phenomenal games. However, EB Games has none of them. So I got Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 4, and so far they are incredibly tedious. RE4 because the battle mechanics are pathetic, and DMC because it takes forever to find out what to do next. I'm trying to work out while playing these, and they just aren't workout material. They just suck.

So I was wondering if it would be worth it to get a new console and get all the new games the stores actually have in stock, considering I have no multiplayer downstairs, (which seems to be all games focus on these days) or just scrounge around trying to get PS2 games.

If you can't find good ps2 games in your local store, try looking in a different town or city. Or go online. Both the 360 and ps3 have a pretty strong array of games, but if you want single player, a ps3 would probally serve you better, with games like god of war 3 and uncharted 2.

I agree with this post. The PS3 has better single player games but the PSN just doesn't compare to xbox live for functionality. They both have a huge selection of movies and games, but xbox live is easier to use. Before you make a decision, I would check out the exclusive titles each system offers and base it off of those. I personally prefer the PS3 exclusives, but I really wish I had L4D and Alan Wake as well.

look at all their exclusive titles, and then MAKE UP YOUR OWN DAM MIND which one is more relevant to your interests.

also consider move and kinnect, and which one is more interesting TO YOU.

that is all

Because you don't pay 60 dollars a year for it obviously.

Something to consider is that the 360 tends to break a lot. As of now im on my 3rd one and plan to sell it and switch to a PS3. They're both amazing consoles but i don't consider a 360 worth the risk.

It really does depend on your choice of games. Most games are on both, but it's all about the exclusives. GoW was a big one for me, plus the free online is nice.

However, X360 not only has a stronger, if more expensive online, it also has a bigger backlog of games to pick from if you're into small titles. Plus Halo and Gears are 2 online giants if you're not a CoD guy

Personally based on your answers I'd go PS3

Well when you think of it, the money you pay for XBL subscriptions could be going into buying a PS3. To answer your question, I think the PS3 is a good choice because you can play all of your PS2 games on it.

How much do you care about online? A lot? Get what your friends have.

No friends (or you don't care if you can't play with them)? Each console is having less and less exclusives every year, so unless there's one console that has A LOT of exclusives you want to play, that's not that big of a factor. people who say "don't get a 360, they break!" haven't bought one recently. Seriously, I bought an elite a year ago and it's never had a problem, and I hear the new "slim" models are even less prone to breaking (just don't move it when there's a disc inside and it's on). As for Move and Kinect, neither of them are really worth it, IMO, atleast, YET. Both have some promising games coming out for them, but for now...very ignorable. Online? Really small differences, you pay for 360 online, but it's only the price of a game a year...haven't played ps3 online, so I can't comment on that, but my friend tells me that nobody ever uses their mics.

So yea, decide for yourself based on what your friends play and exclusives, but just remember each console is getting less and less exclusives as devs realize that the money is in going multi-plat. You want my personal opinion? I got a 360 and have enjoyed it ever since I got it. I like Halo, gears, Fable and mass effect all quite a bit, and most of my friends have a 360, too, and I enjoy playing with them online, but I could understand getting a ps3 if you don't like those games or if your friends play ps3.

if you had asked this 2 years ago, i would definitely say 360, since the PS3's lack of a game library was a bigger issue than 360's rrod. but now that PS3 actually has games to play, 360's self-destruct mechanism is pretty hard to ignore--especially since they still haven't fixed the problem even after several redesigns (actually, they got rid of RROD...by removing the red LEDs).

Xbox 360 focuses more on Xbox Live gaming more than anything. Once you're done with their, to me anyways, extremely short games, playing online makes up for it. That's the general catch for it anyways. Single player is amazing in PS3 games, or so I've heard. I'm getting a PS3 this Christmas most likely for most of the single player games.

Ultimately it boils down to your preferences. Good luck.

I have been sticking to my ps2 until now. It really has a massive library of great games. Graphics aren´t really an issue to me. But next week my brother is buying the ps3...because we´re into Gran Turismo, God of War,Killzone, etc. Also:my friends all have ps3´s so we play each others games.

But xbox 360 has Alan Wake, gears of war, left4dead, halo, mass effect...

Check out the exclusives and see which one you prefer. Also:eek:nline on the ps3 is free and the console is more durable. But it all comes down to games really

It is actually possible to have a modern warfare 2 game on the PS3 without kiddies screaming in your earhole. While on the xbox...you get the idea. Xbox live is a utter mess and the only thing decent about it is the party chat, but that's not worth paying such and such a year.

Anyway when it comes to "xbox exclusives" you can get them on pc (you can get gears, left 4 dead and mass effect on pc). So if you have a ps3 and a good pc you can play pretty much anything without having to resort to buying a xbox 360.

Also I've had two X boxes in three years and guess what... they both broke. One was a cause of the AV port was burned out and the other was cause of the E74 error (which is Microsofts brand new red ring of death in a new exciting flavour and guess what... it doesn't come under you warranty if you have that) yes microsoft sure has a few naughty secrets in their closet.

If that isn't enough reason to buy a PS3 over a 360 then I don't know what is.

Plus it is a blu ray player aswell. It's not that much more expensive than a 360 and i have seen a second hand Ps3 go for less than a new xbox.

the problem with a PS3 is that they removed backwards compatibility with PS2 games in the newer consoles, so you HAVE to pay to download them all over again.

the 360 still has a lot of original xbox games that will work with the 360 (halo, metal arms, KOTOR, GTA: San Andreas), and it has some pretty good singleplayer games like Mass Effect and KOTOR (albeit all from western developers if you have a preference for that sort of thing)

as for the multiplayer? i never pay for gold so i wouldnt be able to judge it

Do you have a gaming PC? If yes the XBox is useless. Go for the PS3, having owned all three major consoles, the PC/PS3/Wii is the best combo you can get.
unless you don't have the money to afford PC gaming because it is HORRENDOUSLY expensive and the moment your specs fall even a BIT short your game gets all laggy and slowed down. then you have to shell out a hundred more dollars just to get your processor up to speed but then its not compatible with a different game so you have to replace it or buy another...

yeah, its hell unless you have no life and have more money than the average gamer
