Also only buy it if you liked FO3 or Oblivion

I really enjoyed Fallout 3,and i really enjoyed Fallout:New Vegas. It's a "more of what i like" kind of game.

Buy the darn thing!

PC version is the best to go,considering how big mod community at nexus is.

*If you're wondering i only encounter game breaking bug once, just once, out of 30 or so hours.

Rent it, see if you like it, if you do buy it. Although I would NEVER buy one of those types of games unless its on PC for 3 reasons.

1. For the better graphics.
2. For the mods to make a MUCH better game.
3. And no, not just for the boobies. =P

Edit : And don't base buying a game on if it has some bugs on release that WILL be buffed out.

I'd say yes, but you might want to wait till the next patch if you can't handle minor and possible major bugs.

The only show stopper I ran into was saves corrupting about 40 hours in(lost about 2 hours progress twice over). I thinking now it might have been all the items I was hoarding, I went back to my last good save and sold a lot of useless crap and haven't had a corrupt save since, but I still make backup saves often and find it hard to trust it.

PC ver. btw

Should you get New Vegas?
Yes.
There really isn't much to add other than that.
It's just a superb game.
It's kinda buggy, yes, but it's nowhere NEAR as buggy as some people here tries to make it out to be.

Haha I don't feel it's enough like Fallout 3. Bring back the perks every level and bobble heads.
Then why don't you?
There's a mod for that, and there's already collectibles to be had.
The stat bonus is ditched for the snow globes though; you get those through implants, just like in Fallout 2.

Yes. I've never played any of the other Fallout games, but this is quite entertaining. and the bugs are NOT as bad as everyone seems to say, i've had hardly any problem with bugs.

EDIT: according to steam, i've already got 76hour of playtime in :)

Either way it a great game you should buy it.
ya, the crafting just seems like a waste of time, i've never crafted anything in the game, and i have yet to see the need to

I haven't played that much, but I think it is much better than FO3. Gameplay is improved and it has a different feel to it, maybe since I'm playing on hardcore. Yes there are glitches, just put up with them. I haven't encountered that many.

well im not seeing all the bugs everyone is talking about, im liking this one better than 3 for a few reasons, im a big fan of fallout 1 and 2, and this one has that feeling, i love the ncr, and being a fallout 1 and 2 player i never cared for the brotherhood of steel, and it did do the one thing i asked, a direct refrence to the charecter from the earlier fallouts

You should absolutely get it. To be perfectly honest, I've encountered almost no serious bugs, and it's an absolute blast. Deeper, more fun, and bigger than Fallout 3. It's also more difficult, which I like.

I wish I could but I don't have the money for a gaming pc. My laptop has trouble with Fable: The Lost Chapters. So no mods for the 360, but they should sell a pack of mods and give the maker a cut. I bet a lot of people would pay 5$ for the top mods or a bundle

The snow globes only give you caps :p Now that I have the jury-rig perk(for real its the best perk it's almost a little cheap) I poop 2000 caps. The implants are based your endurance levels so most replay characters will have a high endurance

I say get it. I haven't really had any problems with major bugs. The only ones I've come across are little stuff like textures not loading right away or stuff falling through the ground (Oh no its a Radscor- wait its half in the ground). Although that may just be me because I've heard about people who have had the game crash on them and others who haven't had any problems, just like me. And it feels a lot like Fallout 3, which I like. Its pretty fun overall. And the additions to the game like factions, crafting, and ironsights to name a few make the game even more fun.

I really enjoyed Fallout 3 (one of my favourite games actually). Yet, I'm afraid that the newest game may be too much like the third. Is it worth the purchase? Or should I rent it.
There is a new story but the gameplay is exactly the same as the third except there are more choices to make, melee weapons are completely overpowered and non-energy guns are super weak. They added a "hardcore mode" which makes the game slightly more realistic and harder.

It's an enjoyable game but pretty buggy, so I'd recommend buying it on the computer because if something screws up that makes the game impossible to finish you might be able to fix it using the programmer's console.

I'd say get it for PC, I've played through with minimal crashing/bugs; can't comment on console versions with regards to stability, but the game is certainly good, if somewhat flawed (unlike most new games, which are bad, but are devoid of bugs).

Not really, actually.
You only need 6 endurance to get +1 to all SPECIAL stats.
Well, 6 endurance if you pick an endurance implant before you run out of endurance, 7 endurance otherwise.
And even then, you can chose to skip an implant or two if it's about a stat you don't really care about, like perception for pure melee characters.
