I'm leaning more toward inFamous for the electro shock powers and combat in general but Prototype has my vote for absolute wanton destruction (imagine putting every player of GTA4 in one virtual city and give them god mode, infinite ammo and a rocket launcher that fires quicker than a fucking minigun)

I prefer Prototype, but that's just because of the fact that I like badassery more than whatever's in Infamous.
Prototype. I never got to play inFamous (stupid console exclusive) outside of a short time on a friend's ps3, but the moral choices seemed incredibly stupid. Prototype knows you need no semblance of morality. Around the time I pointed at an old guy and accused him of being me, only to have the local police gun him down I realized this game was hilarious. However, heads up, it's not as God Modish as you think it is. Two of the bosses are absolutely brutal.
Rent Prototype.
Buy inFamous.
Prototype may be good mindless fun, but it's only fun for about an hour and the game is so unfinished and unpolished that it brings the whole game down.

I played both and while hey are both great games, inFamous is better. It has a stronger story, better gameplay, and realisticly possible trophies(if you like that kinda thing). Prototype is good fun if you just want to fuck around though. Prototype is also probably cheaper, but I'm not sure.

Prototype is fucking awesome on paper. In execution, it's fun to mess around and go through the various stuff, but a lot could have been tweaked. I'd definitely say it's worth a rent, though. I still really like it. InFamous, however, is good pretty much in every aspect. Plus InFamous 2 is in the works, and I haven't heard anything for Prototype 2.

Infamous. I got Prototype, and it's not worth the money. Look at the Zero Punctuation review of Prototype. It's exactly like that.
inFAMOUS pisses me off because every time I walk down the street I get shot by magical AK47s that have precision accuracy in the hands of mutants. And combat is "Shoot electricity at the enemy a lot". Moral choices are too extreme (There's a baby in this building, do I save it, or do I go in and eat it). Prototype has better free roam (shit atmosphere though) abilities because of the disguises.
