Should i get the mass effect series

Trust me when I say the trilogy comprises one of the greatest RPG stories ever made.

I had absolutely no interest in it before actually playing, assuming it to be just another generic space marine testosterone fest thing.

If you like rpgs, video games, or fun, you'll probably find something to enjoy. The trilogy has some of the best writing in video games period.

I'd highly recommend playing the first one. If you get it on PC there are mods out to update the graphics. The system specs are low for ME1 so you don't really need a gamer rig.

Don't play as a Soldier on your first playthrough as many recommend, it makes the gunplay boring as fuck...it fits Shepard's character best from RP perspective IMO, but it just doesn't have any cool abilities. Sentinel all the way.

ME1 has an awesome story overall, very complete. The gameplay is not as bad as people make it out to be, it's just that things in 2 & 3's are a bit more fluid and fast paced.
The ending sequence in ME2 was one of my favourite gaming moments ever, despite a somewhat weak story overall. ME3 was a solid entry with a weak ending, not a deal breaker.

Why was this question even asked? Of course you should play Mass Effect. Hell, I didn't like it when I first heard of it, and again when I first played it. By the end though, it's become one of my favorite game series of all time.

Se yes, go. Go and play.
