I have played Left 4 Dead 2 for a while and absolutely love it. So I'm wondering if you think I should get the Original (Left 4 Dead). As I haven't played it?

I'd appreciate if instead of saying yes or no could you suggest how much money you'd pay for it if you were in my position.

Thanks,

Edit:
The reason I'm considering getting the prequel is because I think it might be fun to play in the other settings.

I wouldn't get it, unless I found it under $30
Right now it's $18 Used and $25 New with shipping
I can't see a reason not to get it Used.

2nd Edit: I am going to get it for XBOX 360 not PC as I only have a laptop and it can barley run Firefox

Hell yes get Left 4 Dead. It's an amazing game, and I'd still pay the original 50 dollar price tag if I were you.

Really the only reason to get L4D1 if you have L4d2 would be the campaigns and maybe the models.

If you love the game you might still like the original. I played L4D first and i do realize that 2 improved L4d in every way possible. But from time to time I pop in the original and enjoy having more shotgun rounds and 2 powerful pistols instead of melee weapons. it changes the way you play the game.

You probably should have bought the first one first but anyway... Yes, get it, if you can get it for $30. It's good, but apart from better voice actors and an easier game, it's much more simiplified compared to L4D2.

Considering it's the better game of the two, absolutely you should buy L4D.
Bold claim. What makes you say that?

I picked up the first one myself for 7.50 during some various Steam sale even after having the second one. It's definitely worth playing.

L4D is a good game, but after playing the sequel for a while, i prefer L4D2... its much more challenging.

I think that it has much better atmosphere, and I really love the simplicity of L4D that is lost in L4D2. I've just enjoyed playing it more.

Technically, L4D2 is the prequel to L4D, but yes, you must get it.
I'm fairly certain L4D is about the same time as L4D2 but we can argue this for days

For the OP, I love the characters of L4D far more than L4D2 and the game play is on par for its sequel. I fully suggest it and you can sometimes pick it up for cheap on Steam, around $10-$15

"The sequel picks up 1 week after the events of the first game (3 weeks after the first infection)"

I think you were mistaken.
