Should i get Torchlight?

Hey guys hopefully over the next couple of days my computer will be fixed and playable again and to have a mini celebration im going to get a new cheap game for it, and since the recent Diablo 3 controversy ive been hearing alot about Torchlight.

Now i thought Diablo 2 was alright but i couldnt get into it that easily (dont know why) but ive heard that Torchlight was rather accessable so im tempted by it (and its only like £10) so would you guys recomend it?

I wouldn't while it had potential, it had way to few enemy types, weapons,dungeons types and bosses.

Would say wait for torclight 2 since it seem to be a lot more polished.

Well, Torchlight 2 is on the way but if you can get a low price you won't be disappointed.

It's okay I guess. I couldn't get into for any extended period of time. Don't really know why though, it just really didn't draw me in. If you like games like Diablo, you'll probably like Torchlight but I dunno.

Maybe you should wait for Bastion to release on Steam. It isn't a loot fest like Torchlight or Diablo, but it seems like the action is much dynamic and interesting. They're the same price too.

It's interesting and fun for a bit, like any game of the genre. I picked it up over the Summer Sale on Steam. A bit of a merger between Diablo 2 and Fate.

Torchlight 2 is due out... sometime.

No. Torchlight is close to literally being a Diablo 2 clone. It is virtually the exact same game. To be blunt, if you couldn't get into the real thing, then don't even bother wasting your money on Torchlight.

If you want a good isometric, PC hack-n-slash that isn't Diablo 2, I recommend Titan Quest. But if you didn't get into D2, then this probably just isn't the genre for you.

i just want clarify, while i did and occasionally do play diablo the reason i find it difficult to get into (even though i enjoy it) is that i die every five seconds , i heard Torchlight caters to people like me who seem to lose all inteligence when playing this genre, so keeping that in mind should i get it?

ps i dont care about lack of multiplayer

I love Torchlight, very highly recommended, but it does go on sale often, and with TL2 coming out it should be soon.

Edit: as for you losing all intelligence whilst playing this genre, I listen to podcasts and totally zone out whilst playing Torchlight, totally not really paying attention at all. It's perfect for that.
