Should I go back and see my GP?

Back in October I think it was I was diagnosed with a chest infection and given a course of antibiotics. They cleared it up and everything seemed fine. That was until a few weeks later when I started having massive dry coughing fits again. I went back to my GP and she said it was simply a case of my throat being inflammed and irritated from the infection, and the only thing she could recommend was taking cough syrup, breathing in steam etc. I did all that and it seemed to help for the most part, however every now and then I'd have a coughing fit again, and I'd find it hard to breathe.

Well since today it seems to have gotten worse; I wheeze with every breath I take and at the time of writing this I've coughed so much I've vomited. Twice.

What should I do? Should I suck it up and just leave it, or should I go back and see my GP? I'm just worried they won't do anything for me again. Thanks guys :)

Yes. Vomiting because you're coughing too much is probably a very bad sign.

Yeah, if you're vomiting I'd go to the GP pretty quickly.

?Not much else to say, really xD

Yah, go back to the doctor. They don't get a lot of time to diagnose you, and on that basis they are not always going to be right. So if you continue to feel unwell go back to see them, they won't mind, unless you're there like every week with something new...then they might get annoyed with you.

Last time I went was like November so I don't think they can get mad haha. Thanks

Don't worry! Your GP isn't going to think you're weird or something, and you're not wasting their time, they're getting paid for it!

You're not a hypercondriac (sp?), vomiting isn't a good sign.

And if it's nothing, the GP will reassure you and then you'll know for sure :)

I AM a hypochondriac, so i know what it's like to feel like you're just bugging the doctor at a point. But it's their job to make sure you're ok. And it sounds to me like you're far from ok. Nothing normal should cause you to throw up from coughing fits. Even if they don't do anything, (which if it's as bad as they say, they kinda have to) at least you gave yourself the chance of getting better. Which is well worth it.

That's the thing though; I went back thinking it hadn't quite cleared and the doctor just said my throat was inflammed from coughing too much.

Struggling to breathe is usually a sign that you aren't in the best of health, to be honest (and a bit understated!) I'd try and get an appointment at the GPs asap, otherwise I'd go to A&E if they're fobbing you off or you start getting worse in the meantime.

Well there was about two weeks from the time I finished the first course to the time I next saw the doctor. In that time it went from "I guess it hasn't cleared yet" to...well I think I'll keep this polite and not describe the symptoms, lets just say it was incredibly unpleasant.
