Should I have retaliated?

Basically today I was hanging in the park with two mates and this arsehole who i told a teacher was probs late cause he was smoking.

Then today his girlfriend slapped me out the blue.

Then later pulled my hair slapped me again and bit my back real hard eaving a mark thats going to scar.

Now the discussuion value is: As a man would you have retaliated? Would you have got her off you what would you have done?

Me personally just sat and took it and did nothing and walked away not crying or screaming or in intense pain just walked away calmly.

Being a woman I don't agree with the whole "you can't hit her because she's a girl". If she's going to get physically aggressive with you, you have the right to defend yourself against her. She has no right to attack you for no reason. If it were me I wouldn't start with the punch to the face, just do enough to keep her off of you, push her into a wall the next time she attacks. You don't want this to turn around on you and get in trouble for just defending yourself from her because if you hit her, she has no problem going to someone, showing them the mark and saying you hit her for no reason...and she sounds like a ***** so she probably would. You should definately bring this up to a teacher or counselor though because if you don't and the next time she does this and if you would accidentally hurt her, your ass will probably be on the line. But if they know ahead of time about this, if you've complained and they haven't done anything and she tries it again, they can't blame you for just defending yourself.

Depends. How big is the boyfriend? If you say or do anything he might feel oblidged to step in.

Also, is hitting anyone ever a good idea? Sure, if you really have to, but if you have a choice, just gently restrain.

I'm finding it really hard to imagine this was completely without cause. You sure you did't say or do anything? Even behind her back that she might have heard of?

She may think you said or did something. Still, not much point in hitting someone weaker than you, boy or girl.

well, you could retaliate by uh, calling the police? I think thats what they're there for. You were in a park right? .... and basically she just assaulted you without reasonable provocation.

Push her away, give her a warning, if she continues call the police right in front of her.
