I would say go, but make sure you have an escape plan in case you decide the place isn't for you. That's something I would do regardless of where you're moving.

I do not. But I may do in a few weeks and that has rattled around in my brain also.

I'd pass, their government seems to eager to ban everything even remotely interesting to me. Also, I hate hot weather.

difficult choice. on the one hand, it'd be awesome. on the other hand, it's likely you'll never see your friends again (a lot of them anyway). I wouldn't worry about atkinson that much, more about where you'd get to live. if it's in the middle of the desert, i'd pass...
but if you get to live near the beach with lovely weather all year long... I mean, it can't be worse than the weather up here, right.

but i'm not sure if i'd be able to cope with celebrating christmas in summer....

There are still a hell of a lot of ways to get video games in Australia, so don't worry about that. I say move - you can still import them from New Zealand or get them from an online service.
Not every online service will sell you non-Australian games, though. Steam, for example, will foist the censored versions of games on you. It's better to import from another country entirely, or if you want to play a Steam game, have someone from the US gift the game to you. It's way cheaper and it bypasses the regional restrictions.

well, at least you have a good way of finding out how she feels about you. just go: I might be moving to australia. see how she responds.
if it works out between you, you have another reason for staying, if it doesn't... australia is a good place to hide from the embarrassment ;)

Yeah, in that case base it on how likely it is, and how much you want it, and also how serious it is likely to get.

That's the main thing.

Huh, I didn't know that. Even so, there are still a lot of options for getting video games. You get a cookie for both giving information and for the usage of the word 'foist'.

Do it. And keep your accent. The girls will go MAD for it.
Intriguing....

I really don't know because as much as I'd love to move there, I'd be leaving my friends behind etc and one man stands in my way....

Michael Atkinson!

EDIT: Just to clarify, I live in Scotland just now so I'd probably explode from the temperature differential alone
Depends on where. If it's Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide or Darwin, don't bother. If it's Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth (especially Perth), definitely go.

Just be wary that the government might be incorporating this stupid internet censorship bullcrap. I'm leaving if it does.

Personally, given the choice I'd rather live in Scotland. Australia has too many scary, evil things (and that's before you even count the wildlife!)
