I play on magthierdon cuz thats what my friends who got me to start last summer play and i havent played since last summer but how is the Horde? I played alliance because thats what my friends were but honestly i found them to be boring and uninteresting. I dont know much about the new expansion but should I switch to the horde? I leveled a pally and a priest to their mid 40s so im fairly new but i hear that the horde can be relentless to noobs like me is this true on mag?

The only reason Id still play mag is just because, are there better horde pvp servers to play on? i like how balance mag is with horde and alli where horde has a 1.6 ratio advantage but alli has slightly more activity?

Suggestions?

Im not too big on the gnomes actually just a few bad experiences dealing with other gnome characters that just turn me away from them. I also like the badassitude of the horde and worgen just dont do it for me. really im just asking if the horde are friendly to noobs or are they really the elitist that everyone says they are and what server should I play on that is aprox or close to 1:1 ratio

Eh, both sides have their jerks and their nice folks. Though the Alliance is stereotyped as having a lot more whiny brats on their side. I played Horde, my brother played Alliance, we never noticed that big of a difference from either side.

Magtheridon (US, PvP, Eastern, Ruin/BG3) is a Day 1 server. It is most notoriously known as the de facto center of WoW multi-boxing, particularly Horde-side. Many hardcore guilds and arena players originated from Magtheridon. Unfortunately, severe hardware issues in the early Blackwing Lair days prompted mass exoduses to more stable realms and BG9. Several strong guilds and teams remained throughout, while some continue trickling back.

And now that the WoWWiki copypasta is out of the way...

No matter which server you play on, if it is a PvP server, expect harassment from the opposing faction.

If you cannot stand the thought of a PvE server, I would suggest finding a server closer to a 1:1 ratio, or even in favor of your faction.
This site seems to have a basic ratio, it may help.

As for Alliance v Horde, it all comes down to preference really.
Whose races do you find the most pleasing? Which cities do you like better? Lore?

Hope this helps. =3

You will have fun with either, as the communities for both are bound to have an equal amount of pros and cons. I played horde for 3 and a half years on Blackrock, and had an absolute ball; it all comes down to your race preference.

I haven't played in a while, but on frostwolf, horde was hard on noobs but never too bad. they will yell at you for not doing what you're supposed to be doing but that ultimately makes you better at playing. on most servers I've played on I noticed that alliance players tend to group up more while horde players go solo which i think leads to horde players having a shorter fuse for noobishnis.

I did notice that a lot of kids seemed to play alliance but theyre were also a lot of 20-30 year olds on there. I know that because they were in my guild lol and they were cool, helpful and good to talk to but I really dont want to go back to the alliance I just thought they were so boring but if I cant find cool people on horde then ill prob just go back

Also it should be noted that my total play experience is like 2 and a half months and i dont care about raiding just having fun and helping each other out sometimes. My guild on alliance started by my group of friends and I was very social and had all kinds of levels and people that were also very helpful. just wondering if ill get the same

I've looked around for a PvP server where the ratios are balanced, and they don't exist. Everyone of them has more Horde than Ally, which sucks. I like to world PvP, but the only way you're gonna get any is to roll an Alliance character. The Alliance BG queues are tons better too. It's practically instant at lv85, I have both a lv85 Horde and Alliance character on the same realm, it's a 10 minute queue for my Horde char and a 10 second one for my Alliance char. You will miss instant queues at 85 when you're gearing up (assuming you're doing PvP) for arena. Plus, despite what everyone says, the Alliance don't suck at PvP. You get your fair share of morons, but it's no different on the Horde. I'd rather lose a BG I joined instantly in 5 minutes than wait 10 minutes to lose, and then another 10 minutes to join again.

In terms of attitude, I imagine it varies. The Horde side on my server are elitest pricks in PvE and in PvP, the Alliance side is pretty dead (which I find to be a good thing) so there aren't many PvE guilds, let alone PvE guilds who can afford to be elitest. In my time playing WoW, I've had a better time on the Alliance than Horde. I'm not sure if that's because I play on dead servers where the Alliance is outnumbered 6 to 1, or because they are genuinely more laidback. On my Ally char, I can sit in Goldshire, have normal conversations with people, and duel people who ask me for advice when I beat them, or tell me where I fucked up if they beat me. On my Horde toon, all I get is "lolscrubrematch".

See i dont even mind that kind of stuff because that is how i learned to be a pretty good discipline priest (well much better than most people with my experience) and i really took to it

Ok that helps too I was kind of interested in the ones that are near 50-50 but they have a medium or low load should i worry about those or is it best to find a nice social high load server?

And to everyone,Any suggestions on pvp servers will be nice from anyone lol I really only chose what i did because of my friends so just assume i havent played before and please make some reccomendations

Horde is just a mirror version of the Alliance with different areas to explore. They're just as social and fun loving.

The Undead and Trolls are really interesting races. Orcs are pretty boring, ungabunga Imma meat head!, is pretty much their whole thing. Taurens are actually pretty cool in terms of their story lines from 1-40ish. Blood Elves can be fun if you don't mind being smug, and posh. Goblins have a pretty great story too.

I guess, I am pretty much just against Orcs on the horde side, other than that it's a whole bunch of win.

Horde.

Both sides are filled with douchbaggery but the horde seem to be slightly more tolerable. Plus goblins kick ass.

It totally depends on which server your going to play on, because the player-bases are very different from server to server.

I usually play Horde though. There are many good servers among the EU-ones.

Honestly it depends,
I always found horde to be more full of mature players, while the alliance was full of *somewhat* moronic kids

Horde is generally better for PvP while Alliance is for PvE. I don't play any more but most people have toons on both sides, I personally have a 85 Worgen Druid and a 76 Belf Hunter.

Also do the trial before you buy.
