I vote NO.

I tried to do what your talking about, play through KOTOR for my first time, a few weeks ago.

I failed because the combat is simply put terrible. It's like a really shitty MMO, where you just left click an enemy and your avatar slowly walks over to the badguy and does all the fighting for you. It's insanely boring.

I love a good storyline, and I could get over the dated graphics, but gameplay that bad is unforgivable.
i actuly realy liked the combat insted of spaming x or something you thort out your atak and pland what to do...kinda like a rts...and yes do play/get the game its brilyent
To each his own. I plan out my attacks by being in control of my character, and being able to attack and defend as I choose. I can see how some people would prefer an invisible dice roll though.

Ah, also, godofallu, there is an option that makes the combat real time, if you don't know. Anyway, you CAN attack and defend as you choose. This is just more of a Sims kind of gameplay than a CoD one: less clicking, but same goals achieved.

You should play KotOR because its the experience of all of the interactions with the characters and the great writing, both in dialogue and in simply how it all works around together. Even if you know the twist to it, its still a great story to behold.

That and the battle system is STILL really good and the fights with each enemy are things you look forward to and have fun with. Getting into the shoes of your Jedi.

As soon as you said "Bioware fan", the answer was obvious. Play the game! If you like what they have to offer (to each his own, but...) then you should play all their stuff.

Yeah, I was unfortunate enough to find out the twist as well, but I'm still well on my way through my first playthrough, and I'm loving it. I think Bioware did an even better job with characters and sidequests for their development in KOTOR than they did in Mass Effect 2. Good stuff.

Knights of the Old Republic had the better storyline.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 was somewhat lacking in the storyline department, but had much better options for customizing weapons.

I don't think customizing weapons should be the main part of a game. I know I didn't play Mass Effect 2 for the armor tweaking.

Also, good god I have 75 posts in ~2 days. Holy crap.

I already knew the twist too, but I still enjoyed it immensly. I am quite sure I know a lot about the KotOR2 plot too (but don't spoil anything, I'm not sure, I like to keep it that way) but I'm enjoying that too.

Also, you're a BioWare fan and KotOR is definitely on of their best games. So yes, play it.

Twist? That's a freaking Major Spoiler! Next time, please state "Huge Spoiler"

Anger aside, play Kotor.

Bioware games are about the story not the gameplay and KotOR has one of the best story lines and character development in any game i've played.

K, k, k, you mean.. you're a Bioware fan but haven't played KotOR yet ? :O... THIS IS MADNESS, go play it now or I shall have your head.

It does kind of suck that you know what's gonna happen what believe me, it is still well worth playing (hell I finished it 20 times and obviously I knew what happens after the first playthrough :p)
