Well I've played it myself for quit a while and I really liked it, simpley because it's a good game. But the downside is the monthly fee wich in my opinion is way to expensive.ironmace1 said:

i personally KNOW that WoW is more addictive than heroin. but even so it is really fun. you get to meat new people(sort of) and you get to share interests with the geeks and gamers at your school, even if you are not one. so i think you should play mate.
I want to supplement my post to the OP by saying that I met one of my good friends through WoW, and that relationship has turned out to be extremely rewarding. I hope your experience wields similar results.

To all the people who say "nooo it's more addicting then crack" etc etc, just stop the nonsense, it's just an MMO and it all differs from person to person. I played for 2 years, hardcore for a while, toned down on WotLK and played WotLK for 3 very enjoyable months after wich I retired because it simply wasn't fun anymore. Not everyone is a crazy ass addict.

That's like asking "Should I start smoking crack?", except with crack you won't be overweight and will still have some kind of social life, even if it is just banging crack whores.
One of my best mates started playing WoW in college, ended up dropping out, getting fat and is now unemployed and rarely leaves his house. Just depends what kind of person you are though I guess, if you're a fairly strong minded person who can control themselves I guess it couldn't be too bad.

Can you explain how the free trial differs from the full game? I did try the trial once out of interest and it didn't hook me...toapat said:
Echoing much of the rest of this topic. Don't start playing it if you have important exams coming up or anything like that - when you do try it it'll either hook you or not and if it does you may end up regretting it!

It's in the eye of the beholder. Most of the poeple who say that WoW sucks haven't even played the game. I played the game for 3 months and then got bored of it. I dont really have anything bad to say about WoW. Its huge and will keep you occupied for a while (hense my 3 months of playing). Theirs a huge ammount of players, and its close to the only "big" MMO (not including Free mmo's just the ones you buy) to rival Everquest. If you're wondering if you should play or not, DL the free trail.

I say ignore everyone's comments - make your own mind up, give it a go, if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. Blizzard offer a free trial so it's not like it will cost you anything.
