Should I sell my PS3?

Dear Escapees,

I am an avid gamer that has owned an Xbox 360 for the last 2 years. About 4 weeks ago I sold my drum kit because I no longer had room for it and invested the money into a PS3 Slim 120GB for a number of reasons:

- I wanted to play the exclusives.
- the Blu-ray player.

...and that's about it.

I would definitely say that I am an Xbox fanboy (not one of the trolling idiot ones). I prefer the controller, the dashboard experience, achievements over trophies and all my gaming buddies are on Live too so I still inted to by all the multi-platforms for that console.

I have played and completed MGS4, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and am now playing MAG, Demon's Souls and LBP. I have to say I'm pretty bored of the console and I don't seem to play it all to often. I was thinking of using the funds to upgrade my PC to i7 standards too.

I guess what I'm doing is answering my own question. So what I really should ask from you guys is are they're any exclusives coming out in the future that I may not know about that I should keep my PS3 for? And how much do you think I could get for the PS3 Slim 120GB and the 6 games I've mentioned (in the UK)?

I have played and completed MGS4, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and am now playing MAG, Demon's Souls and LBP. I have to say I'm pretty bored of the console and I don't seem to play it all to often.

LBP2, Killzone 3 are coming early next year if those interest you. Resistance 3 has been announced. GT5 is coming.. sometime. Beyond that, I don't keep up with exclusives much. But it sounds like you don't really like it, so I'd say best of luck getting a good deal selling it. You can get blu-ray players pretty cheap these days too.

All my PS3 does now is collect dust, but I know the minute I sell it (I've been close a few times) I will want an exclusive game.

LBP2 does look fun. I just hope the game is longer. Yeah some player created content was fun, but most was kinda bad.

Ehh I say don't sell it because there will eventually be a game for the PS3 you'll want to play and you'll be face palming if you sold it.s\So I say don't unless you rally need the money.

I was stoked when they announced the PS3. I was a huge fan of the console, and had a massive library of PS1 and PS2 games.

Still, I went out and bought 360. I just haven't found that much to interest me with the PS3. It's like they were relying on very few games (namely MGS4 and a few Ratchet & Clank titles) to carry the system.

Just not worth the price tag in the end. I get nonstop entertainment from the 360, and I know I made a good choice for me.

The complete lack of commanding exclusives is why I won't go anywhere near the PS3.
I had a refurbished 360, and I barely used that.

Just about every multi-platform game I want to play, I can play with high/good detail on my laptop, while most of the popular/good exclusives on the 360 and PS3 are a bunch of blandy shooters.

Hell, I have more use for my fragging Wii than a PS3; if only because it plays Gamecube games.

Try Uncharted 1 and Killzone 2, then go ahead and sell it.
But don't bother with i7, i5 is JUST AS GOOD and SOMETIMES EVEN BETTER for gaming

If you think the money could go to better use then go for it.

I'm thinking of selling my PS3 at some point. It's not that I don't play it that much, it's just I'm not that fussed about gaming as a whole anymore and I could make an absolute ton from all the games I bought.

It'd be much better if I got a decent PC instead, then I could still do a little gaming while using it for other things like game development or watching films.

If you prefer the 360 then yes.
The ps3 is better hardware but sony seems to have no interest in getting it to meet it's potential. In fact it seems to lost more features than it gains. I actually would've gone with the 360 myself if it wasn't for that whole rrod thing. It just seems to have a lot more interesting features.

I've already had a couple of friends sell (or just not replace) their ps3 because they mostly use their pc or 360 and they don't seem to regret it. So go for it now while you can still get good cash for it.

Honestly if you are bored with the greatest games to have come out in video game history then I see no point for you to have either systems. Sure there are alot of new releases like ICO & Shadow of the Colossus remake and then their new game The Last Gardian, Killzone 3, LBP2, GT5, Resistance 3, and much more but if you cant enjoy all the other games dont bother.

Keep the PS3. Having both will give you the best of both worlds. Though my tactic is:

PS3: Single players, couch-co-ops, racing, beat 'em ups
360: Shooters and online games

Seems to work well. My mates get to shoot me in Halo and I get piece and quiet with my girlfriend playing LittleBigPlanet.
