Should I wait for the new Xbox? (Whatever they call it)

So I have had my Xbox for 5ish years and it is having issues reading discs lately. I haven't bought a new game in a while for it, because of this, and nothing has really WOW'd me. But a few new games coming out in the next few months are catching my eye. I am not hard up for money, but I hate wasting it. So I am debating on whether to get a new XBox today or wait for the new version to come out. I haven't been able to locate any definitive dates yet, anyone have any good links for news on the new machine? What would you do?

I think Mircosoft is holding off for another year or two, that's just what I am going off from all things I have heard. I think that unless you have another gaming platform then you should buy another one.

It wont be next by Christmas.. it may be announced this coming year but its 2-3 off easily. If you feel like waiting that long then you are fine. If you dont want another xbox.. go PS3 for a different side, can get a 320gig model with a new game for 299 now.

They haven't even announced a new console so I'd say it's worth getting another if you're really into your gaming. You can pick up a second hand xbox with no hard drive etc for dirt cheap anyway if money is an issue.

Unless you want to wait 2+ years before playing the new games THIS year, I would suggest buying another one.

from what i heard its not going to be shown till e3 2013 and not sold till 2015... so yea buy a cheap used one from gamestop and cut loose

If you're at all tempted then do it!
This is the only way that you'll be completely satisfied. Just do it and it will eventually work it's way completely out of your system (or not, maybe you'll get back into it) but if you don't do it then it will niggle at the back of your mind, which isn't a huge deal but why put up with if you don't have to?
