Statutory rape is a serious crime. Even if the victim claims they don't care, it doesn't set a good example for other people.

How below the age was she? I'll admit to ignorance in my above post for not knowing who or what aged girl he raped, but how young was she? Laws in the US are 18 in most places, 16-17 in some. If he was in a place that had it at 18, and she was 17, we should let it fly.

He raped a teen, how old was she? Thirteen or so? She didn't deserve that, no one does. I feel no pity for anyone who would scar someone like that. If his wife died, yes it's sad, but that happens to a lot of people and they don't end up being rapist...

But we still have the fact that he isn't an American citizen, and that if he gets tried and convicted, we would have to wait to see what France would do. In the end America might be forced to hand him over. I wouldn't put it past France to demand his return, and Hollywood has enough money and support to back it. Has he even been extradited here yet? That will also be a factor, who can snatch him first? I personally say that he should return to France and live his life out there. Also this was a one time thing, not a multitude of it. So that might also get him set free.

And to everyone calling for his head, please stop. You are really making yourselves seem very immature and childish. And honestly what good will it do, if they did kill him, we would possibly lose France as an ally, cause as I stated before, Roman Polanski is a french citizen.

Yes, because as we all know, rapists deserve to die without any questions as to whether we have the right to decide whether someone lives or dies. What are you, Light Yagami?

On-topic, he should be put on trial, convicted, and serve his sentence. That's it, that's all. He was in the wrong, nothing can justify it. But then, nothing justifies "shooting [people] up the ass" because they committed a crime...since you are then committing a crime yourself.

He deserves a fair trial, and when he's found guilty, then punish him. Any argument to the contrary renders your argument moot, you can't argue for justice by demanding he be executed. It works both ways, even if you don't like the person charged. Do I hate the man? No. Do I think he was shafted in his initial trials? Absolutely. Does he need to face the music? Yes. No different from any person.

Just reading this thread, it's quite odd how angry and passionate al ot of you are getting about this, when you don't even know anyone involved. Not defending him or what he did in the slightest. Just saying, you're an odd bunch.

No, I just think all rapists, child molesters, and murders that get convicted should get the death penalty. They are parasites in society and rarely if ever really change. The world would be a better place if we just got rid of them all.

And I'm not saying he shouldn't have a trial, no, he's still innocent until proven guilty. But, if they have proven it and the jury finds him guilty, I say kill him. Rapists do not deserve to live. There is no excuse for rape.

Murderers do not deserve to live. If you kill someone, you should be killed. I believe Manson should be in the ground, but he's a psycho so he just serves life. There is no excuse for murder.

Why support them in a jail cell when you can just shoot them in the head and go on with life? It's perfectly fair. I don't want scum like that anywhere on Earth. I don't care if they serve life, it's a horrible crime and if it's proven action should be taken.
