Its not a requirement of a good game. But if it is appropriate to the story I wouldn't care either way.

Well it doesn't HAVE to be in the game, but like...it really is just how they use it, if it goes with the story/game/whatever, then go ahead.
Buuuuut....then we will have news reports about it.
Whatever, they used it in Mass Effect and it fit, just depends on the story and the game.

I think if at leat one game could go farther than Mass Effect, then it would probably inspire other companies to do the same. I, personally find it refreshing.

If used right it can be refreshing and hot. If used wrong... it's all over the news.

I really do not care. GTAs sales would fall without it.

god i hate gta so much, the stupid romance in that game gets on my nerves.

if i wanted to have sex with someone, or go on dates or do all that pointless crap id do it...in real life.

sex, especially in GTA gets on my nerves. GTA doesnt need romance. GTA needs more killing, and less social aspects.

i enjoyed all GTA's up to gta san andreas where it started being really bad.

in gta 1, 2, 3, liberty city, vice city etc at least i had a choice, i could pick up a girl for a quick round or not do it, and it would make no difference.

in iv it feels almost like they are forcing you to, getting "calls" from "girlfreinds" that want to go on "dates". and whats worse is you CANT KILL THE FUCKERS. i tried, i tried killing any girl that would ask me on date it just sais mission failed and she goes home and calls me back later. wtf?

I'm sure Bioware would have put a proper sex scene into the game if they could, but as we all saw in that Fox News shitstorm, the world isn't ready for it. Sad, really.
Fox News man sortof agrees, OH YEAH, although he'd love to stir up even more shit on games, OH YEAH!

What should NOT be in games are sex minigames. They are stupid and childish.
Very True, I also would like it if sex mini-games were thrown into a ditch then lit on fire.

However, even if the game developers don't, people are going to make sex mini-game mods
(if mods are possible) and people will most likely download and play them.

It's somewhat sad, but that's their business.

As for sex in video games, I personally don't see why it's such an issue.
Why sex is so much more of a big deal then loads of violence?...it's just strange.

If the sex part is done poorly, then that's just another flaw in the game, it's not special really.
Most games I would say certainly don't need or would suffer from including a sex aspect.

There is no need for boobs or any form of eroticism and sex in games FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
You could say the same for violence. And I'm sure they did, back when they started putting blood into games.
The point is to play games, not watch sex scenes. That's what movies are for. And those flash thingies.

For me, it depends how its done. I thought the Mass Effect sex scene was alright - it was the end of a relationship which you had to work for, and it was tastefully done.

On the other hand, the sex scene in "Fahrenheit (sometimes called "Indigo Prophecy") was just plain awful. Not only was it unavoidable and unskippable, but it was between some people who had only met the day before but suddenly claimed they loved each other. They were surrounded by homeless people, and the man was, in fact, dead. Also, the animations were horrible, and the whole thing was revoltingly pixelated.

hmmmmm, if sex in games follow the same path as violence has in 15-20 years games will be boasting 400 player 'sexual interactions' with super HD3D and advanced movement control. Strange thought, although I did see ten minutes of sme doco where they did actually have a sex MMO. Truth stranger than fiction and all that

if it has a point...or a reason to it

since the media is being such a nanny (slap on the hands) about it when its a Rockstar game or it offends some other country...i don't think it should be banned it should at least be explained or not take up the whole game lol if you want a sex game buy a hentai game.

If sex is allowed in films sex should be allowed in games, it's an entertainment form nothing more nothing less.

Compared to games where you are allowed to kill people, tear them to pieces, use their blood to water your garden, stuff an mount their heads to put on your mantel, feed their flesh to your pet monsters, make thier organs into balloon animals, use their bones to make furniture and use their skin as toilet paper.... I seriousl see no problem with two people who love each other sharing an intimate thing that is both beautiful and ancient as an expression of emotional and physical connection that is both fun and natural.
How blood and guts is less offensive than sex I don't know, I mean ideally MOST of us here will be more likely to have a sex life then roam the city looking for blood.... right?
High five my friend, it's indeed completely retarted. Dismemberment in games is all ok, but a couple of milk glands...ooooo noooooo!!!!

Sex can be used to show a very strong relationship between two or more characters. However, one should use that power appropriately; we don't need porn in the middle of our narrative.

If it adds to the story or characters then it's fine, but when sex is shoehorned into anything, whether it be games, films, whatever, it just looks weird, I'm looking at you Watchmen film.
