Should Skyrim add the whole "werewolf thing" ?

I think it would be great because of the following reasons

1. It would be lore friendly (being in the nordlands now)
2. Being a werewolf was kick ass in morrowind
3. Imagine how awesome they could make the abilities, animations and features now
4. second identity is always fun (even third if they have the Grey Cowl)
5. a Vampire/Werewolf halfbreed
6. Oblivion has plenty of mods (not great or perfect ones) for werewolfs (so the community does want it)
7. Even add the "Ring of Hircine" for people that don't want the disease and want to turn at will (not just night).

Yes... YEEEEEESSS!

For the love of Azura YES!

I loved being a werewolf in Morrowind. I ever knew that you could be a vampire at the time of playing it though. Whilst I sunk a hell of a lot of time into it, that's one thing I never knew about.

I agree with you on the lore and even the ring of Hircine.

Is it November the eleventh yet?

Hell yeah. Running around as a werewolf in Daggerfall/Morrowind was one of my favourite pastimes. I was gutted that they removed them from Oblivion (and confused because they kept a shrine to Hircine in there) and wasn't too impressed by the way being a vampire in TESIV didn't really do anything. Yeah you were a vampire, but you didn't belong to a clan, didn't carry out the plots and schemes of your Elders or anything.

So yes, bring back werewolves. And bring back vampire clans. And Dwemer ruins. These are my three 'wish list' items for Skyrim.

Yes, I thought I saw it as a confirmed feature somewhere, but I may be making that up, or it may have been from a translated interview (in which case there's no point in counting it).

I know Todd Howard's said it'd be something they'd be willing to do in an expansion pack if its not in the main game.

I would love that, yes. But only a vampire OR a werewolf. A werepire would be simply too much.

Heh. Warewolf.

If they've already done Werewolves and Vampires, they might want to do something new. Something snow-related. Maybe a Wendigo.

Hmmm.. If it's not already in the game, sounds like it would be in a future DLC/Expansion Pack. I mean if there is Vampires, haveing the other side of the Coin would make sense.

One word. Mods.

If you can think of it, it will exist.

P.S. sorry if you plan to play it on the PS3/Xbox :p

Wouldn't mind it. Can't say I ever got to play as a werewolf, when Bloodmoon first came out, my PC couldn't handle it (snow blizzards would slow it down like hell) and after playing for a while, I managed to kill an essential dwarf without noticing (one of the downsides of having a stealthy ranged character). So yeah, I haven't tried it, even though I wanted to back then. Would be nice to have as an option anyway, like vampirism, with it's own bonuses, downsides and all.

And yeah, that^. A werepire would just be silly (and you could mod for it anyway if you wanted to for lolz)

Ha! A wendigo essentially is a werewolf, but it doesn't fit with the Nord theme, I don't think.

When you said snow related, my mind shot straight to Bethesda inserting a yeti option...

But, on topic, YESYESYESYES OOOOH I WANNA BE A VIKING WEREWOLF SOOOO BAD.

I'm thinking Yeti. Because they exist now.

OT: Yeah, sure. I'm a vamp guy myself (MALKAVIANS RULE!) but adding more features is always a good thing. Unless the game is spread too thin but Skyrim is not like that. It WON'T be like that. *rocks in corner*

Take it even further. In earlier Elder Scrolls games you had all sorts of Were animals. You could be a Wereboar in Daggerfall.

My favorite quest from Oblivion was the "Cure for Vampirism quest". So I'd be down with having werewolves if they could build an interesting quest around finding a cure for yourself.

The idea of being a vampire AND a werewolf at the same time would be pretty awesome. Maybe give your werewolf this slight vimpire-esque look to him and a few special abilities.

Even though I have Morrowind, It's the console version and it isn't GOTY so I kinda missed out on the Werewolf fun the first time around. I would love a chance to play as a Wolf though! It would be interesting to see/ play as a Wolf-Vampire hybrid too.

Yes, they should. The entire community has screamed for it since skyrim was announced, so they definately should.

The way they seem to keep avoiding the issue makes me think they won't, though...
