Should There Be Another Halo Title?

Ive enjoyed all the halo games, save for Halo wars.
I think I would at least give another Halo game a shot, as long as they dont drag master Chief back into the mix. I like Reach, and the armor abilities. Maybe broadening hat they did there, and shaking things up a bit would make it more appealing. But its worth a look, at least.

Nothing with Master Chief anyway. The universe is pretty big, so if/when they do another, it should have different characters. Personally, I'd like more with the ODSTs, since (and this may sound like sacrilege) ODST was the best of the series.

If on the other hand they're not going to update anything, then let it go.

Bungie will not be doing another Halo for at least ten years until the deal with activision expires.

As for 343 Industries their entire purpose is to provide Halo related media. Games, Books, Comics, Movies, whatever.

There will almost certainly be another Halo game. It won't be made by Bungie but it will involve many Bungie/Halo veterans like Frank O'Connor.

I think there are plenty of stories to tell and gametypes to try.

I'd rather have it end with Reach as well. I love Halo, but without Bungie I'm kind of worried at what'll happen in the future. I'll be keeping an eye on things, but at the moment I feel Reach was a well-deserved ending to the Halo series.

If it's really good, sure. If it's not an improvement from the rest of the series, it will kind of mess with the final, full-circle impact that Reach had.

They still need a game before the fall of Reach which is coincidentally when SPARTANs first got shielded armor. They just seem to not want to make a game with SPARTANs without shields. They did ODST and that worked out fine. It's a fine concept. All you have to do is apply a similar damage system to ODST, maybe make it a bit tougher, and you'll be able to make a game based before Reach.

But yes, I do agree with you, they shouldn't make too many more. You can't just put out a new Halo every year like Call of Duty. Halo is dying. It will pass on soon, like a very dear relative, to me at least. It's sad, but it's inevitable.

The problem with CoD is that it's the same shit, different setting.
Except for Modern Warfare 2 which stole ideas from mods for MW 1 and didn't credit or acknowledge the original authors.

Halo will die if it falls in to the same trap.

Sure why not? I don't care if someone makes a bad game. If that's the case, I just won't buy it. You can't really ruin a series unless you're the creator, imo because anyone other than the creator has the influence over my nostalgia unless they make great games out of it then, all of a sudden, make crap games from it.

no, reach was awesome, but it ends there for me.

however, if they were to take a ghosts of onyx approach, let you customize your own team, pick your own missions full of spartans, have it be more tactical and being able to pick pre mission all your shit, and then you can get different armor upgrades/looks/weapons that do lots of different stuff (tactical light rpg team shooter)

now that, that game i would possibly be willing to buy.

It's not going to end, with or without us, and for my apart I wish it continues. They can't give a cliffhanger the way they did with Halo 3 and just leave it unanswered. (If they did not show Master Chief's piece of frigate closing in on a planet, it would've been a different story.)

Should end at Reach, though it does have a lot to play around with. Microsoft would never kill its biggest franchise, they'll be milking MC as much as they possibly can. It sounds bad when I say milking, but thats what they WILL do, they know its a money making gold mine franchise, they know MC is thier Mario, they know MC represents Xbox and maybe they think that without a Halo game, Xbox owners will start to feel as though there is nothing left to look forward to.

Micro is a business after all, they want Master Chief on everything, and they won't give up until Master Chief has his own blockbuster oscar winning movie, award winning books etc etc etc. They have money to splash so why not?

If they ever did something cool with the covenant I'd be all over it. I'm still hopeful for a lite-RTS/FPS hybrid where you're an elite and you can order your team of dudes around but still charge in and bash some skulls when you want. It will never happen I know

I can't play it anymore. Where once, it was simply one or two griefers every couple of games, now it is at least four or five every time I try to play. I can't play them anymore. I need a game that can't be so easily exploited. So I sincerely hope they stop now. Halo has run its course.
