Maybe. But then there would be the fan boys of that section crying that it isn't the same.

I would have to say no, there are just so many things that can go wrong. The only remake I can think of that actually improved upon the original in every conceivable way was the remake of the first Resident Evil.

Unrelated Sidenote: The Silent Hill coming out for Wii is not a remake, it is a "re-imagining", as much as I hate the term. Do NOT confuse this game for even a semi-accurate re-telling of the first game.

I dont know why they cant just make a graphical remake without changing anything...they all want to be unique and add there own style.

MGS1 already had a graphical reboot for the Game Cube, it turned out pretty good but I was unfond of the script revisions.

FF7 fanboys just need to let it die, yes it was a good game but all it REALLY needs is a retranslation, not a full remake.

FF7 definitely, but ONLY graphics, none of this story-changing shenanigans that they are doing for the sequels. I would also love a remake of Silent Hill 1, becasue I cannot for the life of me find a good copy of that.

Only if they get a graphical upgrade, and dont mess with the core gameplay. Also they shouldn't be released as standalone $60 games. Make them available for download for $5-$15.

Unrelated Sidenote: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time is coming out for Xbox LIVE! I am giddy.

I think they already done that for MG1 for the gamecube, and as for FF7? I think the whole FF7 series should finally be put to rest rather than continue with remake and crash bandicoot probably no because they might turn crash into the crappy crash of the titans version of him.
So yeah, overall I would vote no because I would think remakes are pointless to begin with, let alone to remake the fairly decent classics that were on the PS1 into some of the next gen crap we've have got now.

While I don't generally like remakes of movies or games (The Mummy and Tomb Raider: Anniversary), I will admit that a good remake of Silent Hill 1 and the original Blood Omen would be interesting.

I would love a pure graphical remake of Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy IX for the PS3.
That would make my day:)

No. End of story. We should be supporting creativity not buying the same game with shinier graphics. It is ideas like these that have made the industry stagnant and jam packed with the same game different name that has defined the market.

No. I think they're fine as they are. Graphics don't really make the game enjoyable, so it would be like beating a dead horse to get some more money.
