Valve is divided into teams. One team is working on Half-Life, while another works on Left 4 Dead.
But yeah, basically this. I believe I mentioned it earlier on another thread, after all...
I believe that Valve just published L4D and that Half-life is their own property, and VAlve studio would work on that,
So its not as simple as they have two teams, because they didnt MAKE L4D - they published it
EA were the box publishers. (Yanno hard copies)D_987 said:?Sneaklemming said:I think actually that youre wrong, but only in the detail,Trivun said:Ninja'd by the first poster. Now that is embarassing for me...Internet Kraken said:You're an idiot.

I may be wrong, but according to that the finished product at least was all Valve's own development. Whether it was based on a previously purchased mod I have no idea, but the finished product at least is definitely a Valve development.Sneaklemming said:I think actually that youre wrong, but only in the detail,Trivun said:Ninja'd by the first poster. Actually, I just looked it up. D_987, you're almost right, but not quite. Same to you, Sneaklemming. Turtle Rock Studios began development, but during development Valve purchased it from them and finished it themselves, so it was started by Turtle Rock but the official developer of the finished product was Valve. Valve published it themselves as well, but EA were the retail distributors. They didn't publish it, but they were responsible as a third party distributor for the retail version, while online sales were under the responsibility of Steam.D_987 said:?Sneaklemming said:I think actually that youre wrong, but only in the detail,Trivun said:Ninja'd by the first poster. Ah o..k but is it the same situation for L4D 2?Trivun said:Sneaklemming said:Arent the developers turtle rock studios? I wouldn't have thought so. Since Valve were responsible for most of the development for L4D after purchasing the mod from Turtle Rock, they would have had to create a seperate team to work on it, which of course wouldn't have an impact on Episode 3 since the team for that would have still been working on that project. Valve would have created a completely new team or had people who'd just finished working on other projects on the L4D team. Either way, since they already had the rights to the L4D franchise after buying them from Turtle Rock, they'd already have the team as well so they'd be able to begin work straight away and it would be completely Valve this team. That said, I'd imagine the publishing and distribution arrangements will be exactly the same.Sneaklemming said:Ah o..k but is it the same situation for L4D 2?Trivun said:Actually, I just looked it up. I agree completely.Scarecrow38 said:As long as Valve keeps working on any games, I'm happy.
I am Valves entire fanbase and WE demand more Left 4 Dead! (I'm not being serious, I just gave my opinion.)sneak_copter said:Oh yes, because you represent 100% of Valve's fanbase, yes?letsnoobtehpwns said:I like Left 4 Dead better so Valve should put all their energy into Left 4 Dead.
Ok, I'm sorry. That wasn't very nice. But I seriously want Ep. 3 first. I can't count how many times i've been rick-rolled by "HALF-LIFE EP3 GAMEPLAY!!11ELEVEN!"
