Should we support black ops 2?

Im not going to buy it. They are just not my type of games. Yeah, there's a bit of innovation that has been brought to the table but i think that this "innovation" was forced on Treyarch by Activision.

Let me explain, they are going to release a COD game for the 4th year in a row now. So, i think what happened was somebody from Activision told the commitee who is developping the COD game to add something different (but it will probably feel like the same anyway). It will probably LOOK different but it probably will be more of the same. Treyarch probably told to themselves: "Ok, we have to try and make something new with this...we could just release the same game but our most loyal fans will probably realise it so we have to put something that feels different, then put that innovation in the next 3 games and then change the formula again".

What im trying to say is that if they could get away by releasing the same fucking game they would...but unfortunately people are getting more and more aware of their game making methods. So, if you like the new things that they put in Black Ops 2 my guess is that they will put those things in the next 3 or 4 games and then search for new stuff.

It's like in The Simpsons when they release the same barbie doll but with a hat.

Way I see it, either it sells well, sending the message that big franchises can afford to stray away from formula and take interesting risks; or it'll flop so hard that CoD takes a step back from the limelight and a more diverse range of games from the tier below might start getting more attention.

No lose situation.

Did you like other recent CoD games? Does that trailer look good? If you answered yes to both then buy the game, if not then either don't or wait for it to come out and read some reviews to decide.

...That's it really.

Wow, if Kim Kardashian likes this then it must be good. Who is Kim Kardashian?

Let's just say her graphics look crazy, or at least that's what she's famous for (aside from being famous).

I don't care but then I've never been on the CoD band wagon to begin with. If they introduce lasers or, shrink rays I'd grab it in a second. Also, it doesn't sound like there's going to be much change from the perspective of an outsider who's watched the releases of Modern Warfare, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3...and then Black Ops 2. It already sounds and looks very similar to me but like I said: outsider looking in.

It's been through several time periods already. It's gotten more and more restrictive as time has gone on. Why is this indicative of innovation?

They've also been using that Oliver North guy in their ad campaign, which is in fairly poor taste. Not to mention the fucking horrendously paranoid-patriot vibe they've got going.

It's like being inside one of Michael Bay's fever dreams.

Then we might get an original CoD title in, oh, about 20 years.
... It's still going to be around in 20 fucking years, isn't it?

Buy Blops2:

EA guys: "They love it when we release the same game every year, let's do it with all our franchises!"

Don't buy Blops2:

EA guys: "They hate it when we change things, let's keep making the same game every year!"

Yeah, either way, lose-lose. CoD will do fine though.

I actually plan on buying this CoD. The last one I bought for myself was Modern Warfare 2 and I wasn't pleased with it.

BLOPS 2 actually looks like it's changing things. Future warfare means they'll have to come up with guns that don't exist so there'll be some creativity there. Not to mention the whole idea of having a branching story campaign with choices sounds pretty cool too.
The new mission mode they have that I can't remember the name of (Strike force, I think) also looks good. Big, open maps with tactical combat and the ability to man big futuristic robots. That sounds pretty awesome to me.

I was skeptical at first until I read this article

It's about time they actually did something new with the CoD franchise and now they actually are.

From what I've read on BO2, this could be the best CoD game ever. Even better, it's set in the Future, what I was hoping a CoD 5 was going to do instead of continuing (And then ass raping) the story in Modern Warfare...which didn't really need to continue.

I also like haring that the zombie mode will have it's own campaign. Pure awesome.

"Treyarch ruined cod by making it halo!"
...people have been saying this? But...but no Treyarch game was even remotely similar to Halo aside from the general FPS gameplay. If anything, they made their CoD games more like CoD 4...

Well, the fact that i did a double take with the trailer is something. The first time one of the games has made me go "ooooohhh" since cod 4.

I shall stay on the fence for now until more is revealed.

I don't think I will I promised myself I was done with the franchise after Black Ops unless it either does something radically new and cuts all the bullshit OP and imba stuff that has crept into the series since CoD 4.

I'm actually a little interested, too. Vietnam didn't do anything for me and urban Middle East had been getting old for years, but this look like it might be a little more of a change. The secondary single player thing sounds interesting too going for more sandbox style missions.

I think anyone interested in the game should buy the game and those who are not interested in the game shouldn't buy it. Not everything needs to be an en masse movement with global repurcussions, especially when you consider how likely it is that CoD will continue to do well regardless of how many groups band together and decide to not support it.

Nope. Unlike most anti-supporters on the subject i wont dirty any of my systems by letting a compatible disc anywhere within 10 meters of them.

Erm, EA makes Battlefield and Medal of Honor, Activision rereleases Call of Duty.
