Should werewolves wear clothes?

I don't feel that any bestial monster of any 'species' should wear clothes unless the writer/artist is trying to be humorous.

Its clothing that makes Funny Animals look funnier than they already are.
A bear in a hat, suit and tie might still be dangerous, but there is as much danger of laughing oneself to death as there is of being mauled, maybe more so since the bear is docile enough to let him/herself be stuffed in a suit.

Magical transformations from humans do nothing to change that fact.

Odd question, but I'll bite.

I like the look when they've got some clothing, but it's in a tattered hulk-like state. It emphasizes the fact that the ravaging monster was once a person and there's still one inside there.

It's really down to the artist/creator's preference though.

No when that happens you grab the nearest shotgun and don't stop shooting till the only red left is the blood on the floor.

if it's bestial then just torn clothing if in a comedic setting then unless it's part of the joke give it some pants or I'll be distracted by it's "tail".

Werewolves typically try and eat whoever manages to see them.
I think that person has other things than "Sheesh! Put some clothes on, puppy!" in mind at that point.

I don't... What?

Depending on the kind of werewolf, I'd say some should wear pants, at any rate. At least you'd be eaten by someone stylish.

They should take a leaf from Hulk's book an invest in stretchy purple pants. Of course, we all know the best wolves wear suits.

Well assuming it's the kind of werewolf that keeps his/her mind, I guess they probably should. I think the usual explanation for this kind of thing is that clothes wouldn't fit and/or would be too uncomfortable over the fur. I wouldn't know, until the next full moon anyway.

Easy solution, just never wear clothes. Ever. Hell, I'm naked right now. Should I turn into a wolf, I'm covered ( . . . or not, I suppose).

Just an odd question, how come nudity taboo applies to werewolves in human form, but not in wolf or half/wolf form?

I mean, yeah, obviously they aren't human form anymore, but if they are mentally the same, if they are still a person, you'd think that'd be what matters.

If I was a werewolf, I don't think I'd be comfortable being naked and hairy in front of strangers.

(Likewise, if I was turned into the Queen of Blades from Starcraft, even if she's covered in chitinous stuff and presumably doesn't have any naughty bits to conceal (though she's got breasts or something like them in the statue of here)...and most people she meets are Zerg anyway)

ETA: This only really applies to those werewolves/whatever that retain more or less human mind and personality.
because fur = clothing

What do you think "fur boots" were meant to do?

edit : for the record, if you shave a dog cat or wolf they're pink beneath too

Well, some shorts would be nice... I'd be sort of put off with a hairy shlong/Vaggie-pie dangling/showing around down there, while he/she was threateningly growling and inching towards me hungrily... And let's not forget the tits, neither... Actually, just leave those there... I like em like that... I'd hate to die with an unused bone. It seems like a good waste of resources...

Because it would be too damn hot wearing clothing on top of all that fur. It's bad enough people dress up their dogs, let's hope werewolves don't ever wear crappy sweaters.

Well, then, stick in a pot of water and cook it down for a few hours. Make sure its super hot, and keep adding water periodically to make sure that you get a good amount of broth. If you season the boiling hot water beforehand, you can even cut into the thing (I'd suggest just a sharp knife, as a hammer would be a little too excessive considering how much the bones soften in water) and you could have yourself a nice bone marrow boil. Though after being cooked like that, the rest of the bone wouldn't be very useful for gardening bonemeal, I don't think.

Yeah, I've been wondering about this. I always feel bad for kaijit in Elder Scrolls games, or any hairy or feathery anthropomorphic peoples for that matter; wouldn't it get horribly hot and pinched in all that fabric or armor? They'd have to shave all the time and that would just look silly.

Still, I don't think women werewolves would have to worry about much if it were realistic werewolves we're talking. Multiple pairs of tiny nipples on a flat chest? Psh. If you're getting excited over that, you're either a puppy or really desperate.

But while we're on the topic of werewolves in clothes...

Now, the character's either a werewolf or a general shapeshifter, but that's totally a baby malamute and not a wolf. But does this mean she's just a shapeshifter who likes dogs, or is it meant to be a wolf and they just expect the general audience to not know that much about dogs? I mean, the internet is saying "werewolf," but that is totally a puppydog in a nightgown! Am I supposed to make assumptions based on the cgi glowing amber eyes? I just don't know...

Well two reasons. One, they have fur in wolf form which signifies to people 'not naked.' We don't think of dogs or cats or tigers as naked after-all because of their fur. Two, because generally in wolf form their mind becomes beastly and feral to some extent. Since beasts don't wear cloths, it can be assumed that their new mind feels the same and has no interest in cloths. Oddly enough, I've seen interpretations where the person is in the same mental state in wolf form and does wear cloths.
