I need to be able to kill that little brat from Mothership Zeta.

Rarely do these games actually create controversy. A few news stations say they do, most people don't care, and it all cools down.Helmet said:Nope. You want it to sell, you add in shiny gimmicky shit.theultimateend said:Is any feature in a game really necessary?Helmet said:Out of curiosity, why would they?
If they make it so you can murder children, their game will get a higher rating, a lot of complaints, and so on and so forth in that fashion.
Is it really necessary to be able to kill a child in a game? It makes more hassle for the game developers, the retail stores where the games are sold, and the parents who SHOULD be paying attention to what their kids are playing.
The ability to kill children would create a huge controversy and probably help the game sell for a short while, but I think it'd be more hassle than it's worth. They should just remove kids from games altogether.

I have trust in the human race that we understand the difference from fantasy and reality.
True, but I think more people are likely to do something evil in the name of religion than do evil in the name of pixels.JaredXE said:Cliff_m85 said:I'll go further. Billions of humans believe that there is an invisible man who lives in the clouds...... don't expect much from people.
That said, yeah, allow kids to die in games. They aren't sacrosanct. Kids get killed all the time: drive-bys, war, poverty, disease, human sacrifice.....so digital recreations of little people now suddenly are exempt from death? Doesn't make much sense to me.
Both Deus Ex games disagree with you.Helmet said:If they make it so you can murder children, their game will get a higher rating, a lot of complaints, and so on and so forth in that fashion.
Exactly, finally, someone who gets it. A child has the exact same potential as say, a 30 year old man, to cure cancer. So what makes the kid so special? He's young? So what. I realize this sounds cold, but really, get over it. >.>Dazza5897922 said:Don't get me started! "they had so much to live for!" People always get so high strung if something happens to a child, but if it's to a grown person, the care is much less.
So, in shorter words.. Yes, it should be allowed.
