Ugh. Really? People still think this way? Walk outside, go talk to the first person you see. Chances are they will talk back and be nice and not stab you to death like the evil person that they are. Or maybe it's just their subtle way to get everyone to like them then crush their spirits?MaxTheReaper said:You can't make the world a better place because humans are evil.
You clearly don't live in my city. Talking to someone on the street will either yield:PurpleRain said:Ugh. Really? People still think this way? Walk outside, go talk to the first person you see. People aren't evil. They're nice and will generally help you. Sometimes they can be lazy.
Seeing as how laziness is considered a sin, that technically makes people evil.PurpleRain said:People aren't evil. They're nice and will generally help you. Sometimes they can be lazy.
Calobi said:What about rape victims? Do they fall into your category of "those people"? What if they chose to keep the child? Or what if the parents decide to keep the child and eventually turn out perfectly fine? I have several friends like that. Not everything is so nice as to be pigeon-holed as you seem to be doing.
And on the friend front, do people not deserve a second chance? Maybe someone you know made a mistake earlier in their life and now you would condemn them for it.
Only in one religion I know if. Could be a few more? But sins only effect a few peoples personal morals.IxionIndustries said:I don't, because 90% of the world is made up of assholes who could give two-shits less if I was in such a situation.
That's why there are so many videos that show school fights, and car wrecks. Nobody steps in to help or prevent it, other than the authorities.
Sure you have exceptions, such as the fine people here at the Escapist, but chances are, nobody of the like would be around.

I don't know, I guess I just fee linsulted by these words. I mean, I know so many good selfless people. Intelligent, outgoing, and always helping. So when people genrealise the entire population as scum, it kind of annoys me.MaxTheReaper said:People don't, but I do, yes.PurpleRain said:Ugh. Really? People still think this way? Evil may have been the wrong word.
People are selfish, self-serving, lazy, and stupid, but not evil.
Also, what Calobi said.
Nobody who lives in Florida is friendly.
It is not a duty, it is a choice. There is no law saying I have to help you if you break an arm and vice versa, but I can still choose to.Vrex360 said:Yes it is within every person's duty to help their fellow man/woman/child.
This, unless you know them, in that case I would help them if it meant more could live for one life.FanofDeath said:Help people when it is not directly and blatantly lethal to your person. Unless, you know, you WANT to die being a hero.
I find, there are a lot of aspects of humanity which are caring and nice that generally outweigh the crap and stupidty. Just those few that are are a lot louder and more preverse with their actions/words. I see a lot of shit everyday at work, in the streets, on the news, but I generally feel better talking to friends or talking here, to people that are good, give a damn, and know that they could do a hell of a lot more in their lives and for society then some bogan sitting at home screaming at their kids for climbing on the fence.MaxTheReaper said:You already recognize it for what it is - a generalization.PurpleRain said:I don't know, I guess I just fee linsulted by these words. Clearly, I can't know intimate details of every living human being.
Look at my motto: There is a difference between a person and people.
Very distinct.
So yes, a person may be intelligent, outgoing, kind, and all of that.
But people are not.
For my purposes, "people" inherently means "humanity in general."
sometimes you get just shit in return .... here are some times i tried .. and how it endedVrex360 said:Yes it is within every person's duty to help their fellow man/woman/child.
