Nice! And yeah, I'm getting into archery myself now. Soooooo much better than in oblivion. I love one-shotting a bandit from a good distance, then getting closer to see the arrow sticking out of their eye/mouth/throat etc.

My import is somewhere between the UK and Australia right now, but I'm very encouraged by how good these characters look. Making a decent looking character in Morrowind and Oblivion was pretty much an impossible task.

Hopefully I can make a nice looking Bosmer thief/assassin type.

Oh, it does. And to be honest, I wanna make more characters, just to make 'em, but I'm having a ball with my first character, and it'll be quite a while before I'm done with his tale, so I might not be making a new one anytime soon.

I would play an orc or nord but they don't seem to have any magic perks.

My character Canas, I enjoy thinking that he is a descendent (perhaps great grandson?) of my Oblivion character of the same name (I know, I know, real original). Prefers a stealthy approach to weaken enemies before rushing in for the kill with a sword in one and and a powerful destruction (usually fire based) spell in the other. Currently trying to decide if he wants a part in the war between the imperials and the Stormcloaks, as while he is still angered at the imperium for his near execution without trial, he is not sure if the stormcloaks can be trusted to treat him well as a Breton. He does however openly defy the Thalmor, believing, though he is not a religious man) in religious freedom. That is currently how this character has fleshed out for me and so far so good. Really enjoying the game despite some very minor complaints (mainly horse jumping physics... but another story for another day)

Falcar. Newly arrived (well, created), but already dabbling in the dark arts of necromancy just like his namesake.

Yeah, I really love the Altmer in this game. I used to laugh at their hilarious bouffants, now they look like they're channelling Hellboy: The Golden Army by way of David Bowie.

Also does anyone know if there is a place later on in the game where you can change part of your character's appearance? I have a fantasy where I want to make his hair greyer and more grown out so it looks like time has gone by.

* Back up your save file.
* Open the console (press the ` key, just under the escape bar).
* Type 'showracemenu'.
* Press enter.
* Press the ` key again.
* Enjoy.

Umm.. assuming PC here. Sorry, not sure how to do that on consoles.

Also, going by New Vegas, this may temporarily impede your ability to unlock achievements on Steam. You should be able to fix this by just quitting the game then starting it again once you've finished editing.

I actually just tried this myself to check, and it appears to reset some of the sliders to the whatever preset you started with. For me it was just that the chin went back to being a bit Bruce Forsyth, but everything else stayed the same so it was easy to correct. Still, backup save right.

Very nice indeed! I think our characters would get along well, as they share a great many personality traits. I too enjoy sneaky tactics, then into (conjured) sword and flame. And he's trying not to get involved with the war, mostly because the Imperials tried to kill him and the Stormcloaks are racist.

I cannot wait to get home and update my pic of Legion. He's a hardcore badass now, with amazing gear.

Although, I am a little dissappoint with the inability to look at your character while wielding anything.

Meet Gordon, the high elven arch mage wizard socrcerer focusing on magic. He has a PhD in magic and is wearing a M.A.E.G. suit. His favourite activities are magic, magic and magic. His favourite food is magic. His favourite magic is lightning. In his spare time, he likes to cast the Sparks spell while yelling "UNNNLIMITED POOOWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" and to ride horses. His horse's name is Hoars. His favourite place is the Hogwarts College of Winterhold.

(Author's note: that hood was off when I entered the game. When did I unequip it, and how long was it off? Oh god don't tell me I've been wandering around with a 50 mana deficit.)

lol, awesome. And yeah, I love the magic too. It's pretty sexy. I now understand why people call things 'magical' as a compliment.
