so i'm guessing now you know the series directly coincides with the manga and you already know the ending of full metal alchemist brother hood

edward, mustang, izumi, alphonse,ed's dad, and what's his name fight the head homonculus after he tried to absorb god/"the truth" from the gate(he tried to use all the citizens to give him enough power to drag him from "the gate" so the head homonculus can become god) Ed's dad actually reverses the alcehmy by modifying the alchemic circle that was built around the country and thus the head homonculus body is unstable with the truth inside him being to much for him to handle. so everyone is fighting him untill his energy runs to low ed loses his automail arm so al sacrafices himself to restore ed's arm and the finally wear his energy down low enough sending "the truth and the head homonculus back to "the gate" ."the truth" sends the homonculus into the gate and ed figures out that to get his brother and his brothers soul back he will need to give up one thing as a price: his alchemy as a whole. ed comes back with all by giving up his alchemy as payment. ed and whinry have kids and al and that asian wit the panda girl have children, and mustang becomes the new Fuher(there is a nation wide cover on the events that happened.)and the asian boy becomes the emperor of xing)
