So, I recently bought The Good Guys on Amazon Instant Video after seeing it 2 years ago and remembered that it's amazing. Yet it was cancelled after 1 season. Best show ever! Action, comedy, awesome soundtrack, everything a good show needs.

Just wondering which shows you think should be given a second chance.

Wondering how many will say Firefly...

Jericho [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805663/]

An incredibly cool concept (the world has gone and nuked itself but many small towns survived because nuking them seemed like a waste of a good nuke) and the aftermath of the situation. It takes place in Smalltown (Jericho), America and is about the town figuring out what the hell to do about the fact that everything is all kinds of destroyed now.

No infrastructure, no utilities, no government, no nothing. The town has to figure out how to keep from tearing itself apart while also figuring out what might still be out there. A small sub-plot also involved some of them trying to figure out WHY the world went batshit crazy and nuked the hell out of itself...

Had one full season before it was canceled. Fan outcry eventually got it a halfish season 2 so that it could tie up some loose ends but it ends with most everything unresolved. "Season 3" and beyond have now become graphic novels but I don't think that it's nearly as good as the show was.

It's on Netflix so I would strongly recommend it if you want something a little different to watch.

I'm a card carrying Whedonite (well, if there was a card to carry I'd do so), but nope, I don't want Firefly to return. It had its time, and Nathan Fillion ate all the pies everyone's moved on.

In fact, I can't think of any TV show that I'd want to return. If Firefly (or Dollhouse) got picked up again maybe a year or two after cancellation, great. But once time has past, it's better for everyone to create - and enjoy - new stuff.

Besides, all of the shows I've most liked have definite endings (Whedon's shows, DS9, BSG, X-Files, etc), so you couldn't really bring them back.

As much as I adore Firefly, it's time has come and gone. If all it gets is one near-perfect season and an awesome movie, then that's fine. That just means no seasonal rot or sequelitis.

On the other hand...what about Reboot? I know it's been nearly twenty years, but come on. You can't end the show on ''that'' note. And no, the webcomic doesn't count. Because what the hell was that crap?

Young Justice Young Justice Young Justice! Do I need to say Young Justice more?

It had great animation, intence storyline and great character. So what the kid couldn't fully appricate it, they got Teen Titan Go to watch (I know some people watched it too but I watched cartoon superheroes show for the action, not the kiddy comedy)!

There was this great, early take on Sherlock Holmes (smarmy, arrogant wise ass) done with this show called Probe, which only lasted maybe 7 episodes, 8 if you count the two-part pilot. It was co-created by Isaac Asimov and was never revived after a writers' strike in the 80s temporarily put a halt to TV production. Then again, we already have Sherlock, so...

If anything, I guess I would vote for this awesome, creepy 80s cartoon called Inhumanoids. It had, among others, a building-sized monster that could mutate living creatures into giant, undead versions simply by poking them with one of his claws. He would also imprison people by opening up his ribcage and throwing them into his torso. Incredibly, this was a Saturday morning cartoon show. I think they never got past the mini series stage, so there were maybe 90 minutes total, split over five episodes.

Okay, I'll also vote for Wonderfalls and Better off Ted. Happy now?

Megas XLR. That show was a love letter to nerds. I'm pretty sure it would do much better if it was released now.

Invader Zim had a decent run but there was still a lot more that could have been done.

Teen Titans actually had a really good run but was cancelled for really dumb reasons and the fact that it ended on such a weird vague cliffhanger still makes me angry.

You know I'm just going to save some room on this post and say every good cartoon that was ever cancelled prematurely, and we should all know what they are. (All I watch are cartoons okay.)

True Detective.

I just want more :)
If they go ahead with different actors, then I want to see Viggo and DD Lewis. That would be exciting.

Is it confirmed though?

To add another...

I would like to see a show like Rome, but in a different time period or place. If anyone has read Shogun by James Clavell, boom, that would be a great HBO show and setting.

Young Justice.

Young Justice.

Young Justice.

FUCKING YOUNG JUSTICE.

With the shape DC comics is right now, it's be nice to have the greatest cartoon they've ever made at least get a satisfying conclusion. I just... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

The DC universe has NEVER been done better, and it's PAINFUL that it didn't last longer. FUCK Cartoon Network.

A popular rumor about the cancellation of Young Justice was how the fan based was mostly female. I like that think that's just a rumor though...it would be a crappy reason to cancel such a good show.

---

Spectacular Spider-Man, Samurai Jack and, Invader Zim all had more plot to get through. Jack and Zim in particular had a clear end-game when it came to the overall plot and I'm sure SS-M also had something in mind.

...Wait, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was cancelled?! Dammit, bring it back!
