The lack of SWAT Kats in this thread is disappointing.

Though, not nearly as disappointing as the lack of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.

Futurma REALLY need to come back. That show is just dead on. So dead on that science continuously invents things that Futurama dreamt up long ago. Also, it's about a million times better than The Simpsons or Family Guy or any of those related shows. Unlike those, which are pretty dumb most of the time, Futurama was pretty damn brilliant basically always.

Guys, Community was done. Ever since Troy left the show has felt utterly like it's in "final season mode".

It is.

"True Detective's first season will follow the the 17-year hunt for the killer with following seasons replacing the cast and story -- a similar format that FX has employed for its freshman hit American Horror Story"

Brad Pitt is rumored to be starring in season 2.
Ew, Brad Pitt. The show is much too serious for him, but I don't know, he could surprise me. He was good in Seven.

I am used to seeing him in a role where he is almost a comic relief, like in Inglorious Basterds, Snatch, Fight Club. He isn't really a comic relief but he always delivers his lines in a comedic way, idk how to put it.

Jericho [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805663/]

An incredibly cool concept (the world has gone and nuked itself but many small towns survived because nuking them seemed like a waste of a good nuke) and the aftermath of the situation. It takes place in Smalltown (Jericho), America and is about the town figuring out what the hell to do about the fact that everything is all kinds of destroyed now.

No infrastructure, no utilities, no government, no nothing. The town has to figure out how to keep from tearing itself apart while also figuring out what might still be out there. A small sub-plot also involved some of them trying to figure out WHY the world went batshit crazy and nuked the hell out of itself...

Had one full season before it was canceled. Fan outcry eventually got it a halfish season 2 so that it could tie up some loose ends but it ends with most everything unresolved. "Season 3" and beyond have now become graphic novels but I don't think that it's nearly as good as the show was.

It's on Netflix so I would strongly recommend it if you want something a little different to watch.
Immediately thought this. God that was a good show, and even went out with an awesome setup for a higher-production value miniseries or movie. Instead we got a lackluster graphic novel.

Jericho was my first thought, but another great one that ended before it's time was The 4400 (Also on netflix at the moment). Story of exactly 4400 people who'd previously went missing throughout the 20th century returning all at once. First thought as alien abductions, but it gets a lot more interesting than that. They all start developing powers, and influencing events in specific ways. Just like Jericho, ended with a giant paradigm shift to awesomeness, then no more show.

I really want to see Spectacular Spider-Man come back. It was intelligently written, full of good characters and genuinely both funny and heart-warming at times. And it got cancelled so Disney could run Ultimate Spider-Man. Which is none of those things.

Also, as has been mentioned many times in this thread, Young Justice. An award winning show cut apparently down by Cartoon Network because they felt they couldn't sell enough toys to its largely female audience. Screw you Cartoon Network, screw you all the way back to the 1940s where you apparently got that attitude

Why is it we can't seem to have any good superhero cartoons these days? I remember the days of X-Men and Batman: TAS, what do we have now? Teen Titans Go? Think of the children you dicks and give them something decent to watch!

Monkey Dust and New Statesman.

Granted, the man who made Monkey Dust is dead, so it's unlikely.

Whilst the cast of New Statesmen are either old or dead, I imagine they can probably do a revival much like Yes, Prime Minister, which given the current political climate in the UK could be amusing.

That or House of Cards. As in I'd like to see England 10 years after Urquhart and the conservatives struggle to exist post-Urquhart or a BBC remake/update of the series.

I think Futurama's had its fair run. Over ten seasons is pretty damned respectable. Plus, it was starting to lose a bit of its charm and just go for dumb humor.

I guess I'm the only person on this forum who likes Danny Phantom, then. It's probably never going to be seeing the light of day anyways, seeing as how it got cancelled for decent reasons(not making money). At least it got some movies for closure.

absolutely not my good sir or madam! I flipping loved Danny Phantom!
Avatar: The Last Airbender, though that might have had a solid ending, I never saw the last episodes.
Legend of Korra. where did that go? I thought it was awesome!

I can think of a few cool shows that could do with the Battlestar Galactica treatment, and work well with a darker more complex modern update.

The Greatest American Hero, given the popularity of comic book movies I am utterly shocked that this one has not been dusted off. Dweeby guy accidentally gets Alien Supersuit and FBI handler. Fun insues. Give it a bit more of an ongoing series arc. Maybe tone down the cheesy 80's style humor in favor of something more akin to Arrow and you have a winner. Heck you can even pull back so e of the original cast, it's not like Willian Katt and Michael Pare have been doing much.

Ark 2 - most of you will have never ever heard of this one. It was a live action Saturday morning show from Filmation's, the same folks that gave you HeMan, from the late 70's. The basic premise was in a post apocalyptic future a team of Scientists from the advanced civilized years have unfrozen or returned from a deep space mission (never really explained) and set out in their exploration vehicles to use all their godlike advanced tech to restore civilization. The original was a short lived problem of the week kids show most notable for the world coolest Winabego and the use of one of the fantastic Hughes Rocket Packs (Filmation's actually managed to buy the thing at clearance. The show was almost built around using it.) while the original format was hopeless and a little too hippy environmentalist based, the underlying story could make for some great TV. Say a lost colony ship, stuck in orbit when the Apocalypse hits wakes up to find civilization in tatters.

"Wah wah wah Firefly!" -90% Of the posts. Seriously, people need to stop beating that drum. Of course it was a good show. Of course it was perfect in every single way. But the time has past.

My personal choices?

Teen Titans. And ACTUAL teen titans, not the chibi nonsense they have going on.

Leverage. Underrated as hell. It ran it's course, but I'd welcome another season.

Angry Boys. Tasteless. Juvenile. Funny as hell.

Carnivale. They promised to finish it as a comic. Never happened. A shame.

Community is the obvious answer. I'm still seething over that cancellation.
I also wouldn't spit on an Earth 2 reboot. That show was awesome.
And if we're talking nonfiction too, Good Eats should never have ended. I know Alton Brown's started making Good Eats-esque videos on his YouTube account, but it's not the same without the crazy characters and belching sock puppets.
Earth 2! All I remember from that show is tim curry acting CRAZY. Not much of a stretch for him, I know, but I remember it being glorious. I'm in

Carnivals was great. Love to see more. Although they had definitive endings, more b5, bsg and ds9 please. Finishing deadwood would cap it all off

Eh, even with Harmon back, I don't think it was as good as it was in season 2. Season 3 and 5 were fun but a little too gimmicky IMO. 1 was decent in the first half and great in the second half. Troy leaving also hurt the show. He was my favourite character.

Besides, at least we get closure on what happens to everyone. As depressing as that may be....

Edit: I do wish it would come back if only to fulfill the six seasons and a movie catchphrase.

King of the Hill and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. These are two of the shows that made me who I am today and I would love to have them again.

Well there's the OVA in September, so git hyped!

I'm really not sure. It would have been great to Firefly be picked back up to at least finish the first series, but that ship sailed after a couple years post cancellation.

That's true of The Simpsons, but not Futurama.
Futurama had a good run but it also clearly had a lot more episodes in it. Over all those years it never
really slowed down or wavered in being great, aside from an occasional episode here or there.

Teen Titans. I realize that we have Teen Titans Go! (which I absolutely adore, mind you) but it doesn't fill the void. What happened to Terra, and that one weird enemy that the four without Beast Boy were fighting, did they ever take it down? WHAT HAPPENED?

I'm going to go with a show that I enjoyed a lot a few years ago.

Now, maybe I just have a soft spot for the show, because of its animation style, but anyway...

Code Monkeys.

The only one I can think of is Eureka. I don't really remember the last episode, but as my memory serves they wrapped it up with extreme speed(considering the slow pace of the series) and I was left sad, heartbroken and alone. Well, not really, but I enjoyed the show a lot.

On an au contraire though; Arrested Development. Holy fuck. Bury that shit and let's all forget the fourth season ever happened.

Stargate universe needs to return. Iirc they left it on a cliff hanger. Maybe the remake being made will kickstart the series again
