Yesterday I was interneting looking for a show I remember watching when I was a kid called The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. Think Power Rangers, only in medieval Ireland with magic and awesome armor. Anyway, I was looking for it to buy it because I want to watch it again and it got me thinking about all the other shows we (90's kids) watched around that time like Beetleborgs and Animorphs, Goosebumps, Are You Afraid of the Dark, So Wierd, etc.

So, list all the fucking awesome shows or movies (like Susie Q!) you watched in the golden era of 1993-1999 and maybe we can nostalgiagasm each other like the true internet friends we are. Alternatively, if you know where someone can buy the series on DVD list that too cause Knights was never released and I ended up making a playlist on YouTube from someone who recorded them on VHS and then later uploaded it to YouTube.

The Godzilla, Men In Black and Starship Troopers animated series. All of them were fantastic, and in the case of Godzilla, far better than the movie it was based on. That show made Toho accept that Zilla (the renamed USA Godzilla) was part of the canon.

Freakazoid, Swat Kats, Gargoyles...

OK; I'm an 80s kid, but I enjoyed those thoroughly. Ah, they don't make them like they used to...

Dexter's Laboratory was one of my favourite shows as a kid.
I watched some episodes recently and it holds up surprisingly well.

I ended up watching "Tiny Toon Adventures" on the HUB yesterday, and my mind was blown at how much I retained and enjoyed. It was very good and very fun, but I don't think a single child of this day and age will know or really care who the Hollywood figures are (Imagine trying explain the 'Little Argument' between Danny DeVito and Dustin Hoffman to some child NOW). It's nowhere near as culturally relevant as any other kids shows that's out now (I don't know what kids watch beyond MLP and Adventure and Regular Show, and even then, I know more adults who love those shows, and I'm one of them).

EDIT: I meant to say Adventure Time.

Hm, aside from those already mentioned, and leaving aside stuff I think modern kids wouldn't mind as much like Rescue Rangers or Angry Beavers-

Sonic the Hedgehog[footnote]Not to be confused with The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or *shudder* Sonic Underground.[/footnote] - a post apocalyptic tale where a small band of survivors resist an evil dictator who has turned everyone they've ever known or loved into mindless robotic slaves, and seeks to do the same to them. Saturday Morning Cartoons, fuck yeah.

Swat Kats - Two guys build a secret stealth jet out of parts from a junkyard (because that's totally plausible shut up) and work as vigilantes fighting a lot of happen-to-be-fightable-in-a-jet threats to the city while rocking out to bitchin' 90s guitar solos.

Rocko's Modern Life - not sure how well the gross-out and more slowly paced humor would go over with today's young'uns. Plus there was way too much innuendo lol.

Does "90's kid" refer to someone who was born in the 1980s and grew up in the 90's, or someone who was born in the 90's and was therefore too young to remember or appreciate anything that happened durinng that decade? I never understand this term.

Anyway, Eek the Cat and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (the best one), I guess.

Man I miss the Men in Black cartoon soo much. It was fantastic. Wonder where I can watch that again.

I actually watched the Starship Troopers cartoon like 4 years ago on netflix just because I was surprised that there had ever been a starship troopers children's show. It's pretty decent. The CGI doesn't hold up, and the story is unfinished, but it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, which totally surprised me.

Probably shows like Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures or Pinky and the Brain, which make references to people and events from the 90's that the kids of today just wouldn't get. (Not without the Internet, anyway...)

It's someone who grew up in the 90s and had tons of cartoons and toys marketed to them. So basically anyone who was born between about 1987 and 1993.

I was born in 1982 and that still basically describes me. Except for the "tons" part.

You're an 80s kid who was a nerd in high school.

Yet, I don't really remember much of the 80's besides memories of being a very young kid with very little experience in the world outside of my family. Having been too young to appreciate much of anything that made the 80's memorable, I can't help but feel that the same thing applies to everyone else about the decade they were born in, even if they were born in the beginning of it.

Anyway, my enjoyment of all new cartoon-type stuff and entertainment media basically stopped when I hit 15, and everything post-Rocco's Modern Life became unbearable kid crap. I think everyone eventually starts to feel sorry for the next generation of children. :c

But what exactly do you feel is "important" about the 80s, what you remember, or what society says you should think is important?

You know what I remember about the 90s? Batman the Animated Series, The Matrix, Men in Black, Street Sharks, Power Rangers, sock'em boppers, etc. I don't remember the stuff that people said was important about the 90s, like Princess Diana dying because that's not something that a kid cares about. If you remember important cultural events like that then you aren't really a 90s kid because kids don't give a shit about actual cultural events, kids are incredibly superficial.

Does anyone remember Square One? (it may qualify more as 80's but since it went to 1992 I believe it should count)

More particularly Mathnet:

Gosh I loved that show.

Back when educational TV was actually educational!

Too many to list. Plain and simple. Just reading other people's is making me go, "Oh yeah, I remember that!" And I do remember watching Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. I enjoyed it, and was disappointed that it never really finished up its storyline.

Was ReBoot out yet? I think it was. I remember watching Toonami whenever I came home from middle school. Jeez, just thinking about the old Toonami lineup is bringing back ideas...
