What more could they have done with it though? The main character died and Augustus got control of Rome. There weren't any big political shifts until decades afterwards, so they'd have had to replace the cast anyway before anything interesting happened.Anachronism said:Also: Rome. One of the best TV series that I've seen; the acting and writing were all fantastic, and it had terrific production values courtesy of HBO. Sadly, the ratings weren't good enough to justify the expense and it was cancelled after 2 seasons. A real shame.
Damn! I miss Doraleous too! That's the show that brought me to the Escapist, so i guess a bit of nostalgia there.Obrien Xp said:Doraleous and Associates. Once you enter the Archives, there is not turning back.
The problem was that it was cancelled halfway through writing season 2. The original plan was to have seasons three and four focus on the war between Rome and Egypt, but because of the cancellation it became part of season 2. The end result was around 15 years of history compressed into 8 episodes; while it still worked, and remained a very good show right until the end, it's a shame how much its scope was limited.Axolotl said:What more could they have done with it though? Heroes is a really sad case, actually. Granted season 2 was bad, and season 3 was even worse, but with season 4 it was finally starting to get back on its feet. Frankly, I still think the show had run its course, lasting far longer than it deserved to, but it's a shame that it was cancelled when it was finally starting to get good again.Lizardon said:Heroes. Although it fell apart towards the end, I would have liked a proper conclusion.
