After replying to a thread recently about the geekiest thing people owned, I realised that despite having an interest in "geeky/nerdy" things I don't actually own many things related to them such as merchandise, posters or similar. When I thought about it I realised the reason was mostly due to the fact I am fairly sensible with money, and cannot really "justify" spending it on things that don't really serve much purpose beyond simply being there.

Which inspired this topic.

If you had more money than you needed, what'd be the first geeky thing you'd want badly enough to throw it at? Some people are quite happy to spend money on such things already, so if that applies to you then then take it a step further and pick something that'd be out of your price range.

Full-sized and meant for cosplay (not that I do cosplay).

Plus it's only £589/$945...

I'd like to own the bestest and closest-to-realest lightsaber money can buy.
Alternatively I want a jetpack. Or maybe a lightsaber AND a jetpack.

EDIT: Wait we can buy cosplayers? Dibs on Yaya Han.

I'd probably just go with 'The most powerful gaming PC money can currently buy' Whatever that is.

That or a huge chunk of Palladium, so I can set up ill-fated cold fusion experiments in my garage and pretend to be Iron Man

And someone to film the result. You'll (very briefly) be famous.
You know what? Let's roll will this. I'd like to buy the rights for new Star Wars movies. Fuck J. J., I can do better. I've been ripping Star Wars longer than he has anyway.

Ditto for me at the moment. Not so much the import fees (On Amazon the cheapest ones are like $110 factoring in shipping), but the cost in general. I'll just ask for it for Xmas I guess.

Otherwise, just anime DVD/BDs in general. Or maybe a new hard drive for my gaming computer.

Oh, maybe a PS3 now that there's enough games out for it to be worth buying. Still need a tv though.

Given that I have certain standards which override my nerdy side when it comes to things I plan to actually use, what I would go out and have made and then tinker with on my own time if I had the funds for such a project would not be exactly like the original when you poke under the surface. Reinforced frame, modern (but retro looking) dashboard features, a sporty V8 engine with a CVT, etc.

Of course, I will get hit with corny jokes every time I show up even a little late while driving the thing.

Failing that, a slightly scaled up and fully functional replica of the Master Sword shall suffice for a somewhat more realistic purchase.

Actually, yeah...forget all the perfectly choreographed lightsabre fight rubbish from the prequels, what we need is mid air duels.

Combining the best of old school lightsabre fights with the jetbike race in Return of the Jedi.

The Omni [http://www.virtuix.com/]. Seriously. I will most likely buy one, when I have about $800 to spend on it and the Oculus Rift is officially out and I can afford that as well. Because it requires that as well. So this is probably a "5 years down the line" purchase, but I want it.

Would have to go with [a href="http://www.amazon.com/Valkyrie-Profile-Lenneth-Sculpture-Statue/dp/B001PGPEBS/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt"] This beauty here.[/a]

A lot of my decor follows the whole Valkyrie/angel motif and that Lenneth would have been the perfect addition. Funny thing is earlier this year it would have been in my price range if it hadn't already been discontinued and thus incredibly costly to acquire.

A Hermit's Cave

It would cost a fucking bomb, though... but if I did have one (with potential modifications for more civilian work...)... *ambiguous shrug*

The officer's uniform from BSG, Starbuck's in particular. Or the flight suit. Or just the special t-shirt and the cargo-pants. No, I want all three. Oh god, I'd walk around in this all the darn time. I really need a proper job so I can save up for them...

A lifetime supply of my favourite cigarettes.

Ehm, geeky things, right!

Well, I'm not entirely sure, come to think of it. Perhaps a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. suit, they look comfortable when out and about in the woods. Perfect for picking mushrooms. I could get a boar hunting license and really get in the swing of things.

This come to my mind-
The 1/100 scale version was the first 1/100 Gundam model I made so I hold a soft spot in it (I did prefered that Gundam out of the Seed Gundam due to its militery like apperance).

Real swordfighting combined with lightsabres . . . . .THAT CALLS FOR THIS!!!!

If money was no object, I think I would buy (and maintain) my own server farm. Personalized WoW realms just for me and a select few.

I haven't even watched Madoka Magica, but I want that poster (or at least I think it is a poster).

I don't have any particular items that I would say this to, but I have at least several anime I would shout this at if it would make them create more episodes.
The big ones being Baka and Test, Is this a Zombie, KissXSis, Nyan Koi!, and Sankarea.

A balanced set of Sennheiser HD 800 with headphone amp, or a very high end DSLR with suitable editing rig.

EDIT

An NBN that's not shitty backroom deals and Malcom Turnbull being a massive ****.

Hmmmm, I too was looking at buying the 3DM gear......but right now, I'm building my own one! Yeah, hardcore!! and frustrating!

I'm looking at buying a car, as much as I want to buy a 2.0 Volkswagon Golf....the insurance would seriously cripple me. So would the Alfa Romeo 159 I've got my eyes on.
