Well I think you are the bad guy in Manhunt. Either way that game is extremely brutal and banned in Australia.
The reason why it's hard to create a compelling game where you play as an undeniable evil person who revels in their evil is because it is hard to create a compelling or relate-able evil protagonist. If the protagonist KNOWS they are evil and are committing evil for the sake of evil then it comes off as corny and insincere. If they commit evil so that they might ultimately commit good (see Revan) then they are not really the kind of evil you are looking for. The problem with what you are asking for is that in order for you to join up with the truely "bad" guys your character would have to be completely stupid as you would be shooting yourself in the foot and most likely signing your own death warrant.Karnot said:I always hate being the good guy. So does anyone know any titles (preferably fantasy) where you can be truly evil? Also RTS games (like disciples) with truly evil factions, are also verry welcome.
I already played :
-Dungeons
-Overlord 1,2
-Dungeon Keeper
- Heroes of might and magic series
- Disciples
And please, do not say that you can be evil in games like Dragon age or fable. In those games you can only be a dick at most. I mean Boohoo, you won't help someone with a quest and therefore someone dies, you are being an egoistic a-hole at that moment you are not evil. If you could be truly evil in dragon then you should have options like :
give finger to everyone and join the freaking blight. Now that would be evil. Or as a mage character you could summon demons to posses your party. Now that is being a bad guy.
So if someone has any titles or any upcoming titles where you can be TRULY evil please tell me.
There's a difference between being the hero to save the world, and saving the world so that YOU can be the evil overlord without any competition.Lejsen said:Overlord never satisfied my taste for evil, it's all fun and mayhem for a while but somehow you end up the hero when you save the world from something far more evil.
To be fair, in Me the choices are never even supposed to be evil. You are always the good guy, but you get to choose between "badass" and "heroic".Karnot said:from what I have heard from friends about fable 3 it is kind of linear. even when you are evil you still save the people and that is lame. And that is the problem with game where you are "supposedly" evil. Look at ME2 you can be a renegade, and make some a-hole moves. but you still end up saving the day. I just don't understand why game developers wont make more games where you play from completly from the evil perspective.
I third this. That game a schadenfreude simulator.Ectoplasmicz said:Ooh yes, I second this.Savagezion said:Destroy all Humans.
Loved this game to bits.
Nah,you don't play Hitman to be the bad guy,you play Hitman for the stealth, the atmosphere, the assassinations and how you execute them. It's not a game where you can choose to be a dick, even if you have the option going in a killing spree, but I think that takes out the fun out of a stealth game.Reet72 said:Hitman. It's a game where you play a hitman who kills people. For money.
None of this good guy crap. Admittedly, the people who you are payed to kill are bigger scumbags than you but that doesn't stop you from garroting random civilians.
AND while wearing a rather dashing suit too! I loved that game, specially when you could bowl your head at people and piss in a dam to infect a towntippy2k2 said:1. Stubbs the Zombie: You play as a zombie who eats brains. I believe it's on the 360 "Original" downloads (or for the Xbox if you can get one of those).
Dragon Age DLC where you are a darkspawn and kill the surviving gray wardens. It's called darkspawn chronicles.Karnot said:I always hate being the good guy. Just to point out a few possibilities:immortalfrieza said:I wouldn't say that. While I haven't played the evil path of New Vegas yet so I can't comment, I found the evil path of Fallout 1&2 to be less that great at being evil, it was pretty apparent to me that the developers favored being Good. Why? It's because being evil has very few benefits, even with planning it out, and it cripples you in most cases to be evil. Everybody despises you, you can't take any sidequests that are good, which is most of them, and in Fallout 2 especially very few companions (which in that game are actually useful) can join you and most will leave you if you go evil.II2 said:Fallout 1 and 2 and New Vegas offer up some great mechanical and narrative nastiness. Yeah sure, but by then the game is over, it ends with you saving the day.Xangba said:There's a difference between being the hero to save the world, and saving the world so that YOU can be the evil overlord without any competition.Lejsen said:Overlord never satisfied my taste for evil, it's all fun and mayhem for a while but somehow you end up the hero when you save the world from something far more evil.
So kinda like real life then? Where being a dick has consequences...immortalfrieza said:I wouldn't say that. Challenge Accepted.Cogwheel said:Planescape: Torment.
And if you have the heart to actually be consistently evil in that game, consider me duly terrified of you.
