(i sat at home in the dark whilst my dad pretended were not in so we dont have to give away any sweets my dad is pretty mean)

Orange suit.
Big, orange pimp-hat.
Black bandages, glowing red eyes, pimp-cane, the works.

Myself, I went as a gentleman ninja.

I was driving home when a man dressed as a nun jumped out onto the road in front of the car in front of myself and proceeded to dance. Just as I was about to flick into reverse and pull round, he gave an odd yelp before running into the bushes to the side while yelling in a high pitched voice. Harmless drunks are always good for a giggle.
Mine has to go to two people; one for the most effort put into a costume and the other for a costume that made me go WAT
The first was a guy decked out as the Joker from the Dark Knight and he blew me away. Before we went out ourselves (myself ironically as an awful Batman) this guy knocked at our door and his costume was amazing. Identical suit, perfect make-up with real latex prosthetics for the mouth scars! And he stuck a joker to our door window with a blob of blu-tack and did this to every house we passed because I saw about fifty on our way out.
The one that made me go wat was a girl who wore the bottom half and the mask of a frog. Her chest was bare.

TW-I ended up at a gay/drag queen party(I don't how or why, so don't ask), so I say at lot of wierd, crazy, elaborate costumes. There is nothing like shooting the shit at a party with a 6'5ft Dorothy(Wizard of Oz),Red Sonja, and a very believable Wonder Woman.
