The graphics look bollocks and it looks about as good as Homecoming. I'll stick with SH2, thanks!
^ Agreed with this, watching the trailers graphics was just...horrifying...more so than what the atmosphere of this game should be. I will still give it a chance but I'm not going to build up hope for this game, I'll stick with Silent Hill 3 =D

EDIT: Someone on a youtube video said it looked like a Alan Wakes Resident Evil : Alone in the Dark on Silent Hill.

Makes sense to me

We're missing six and seven. Origins didn't have a number but is referred to as 0, Homecoming is 5 and remakes aren't separate numbers. But hey look another slightly grizzled brown hair protagonist with an obvious dark secret! Oh and there's a woman! I bet she'll be the love interest because that's what silent hill is totally about! OTHER PEOPLE AND ROMANCE! Oh look, the movie transformation is back. Fuck whoever made this already then.

First that kirby game and now this. Why do the things I love hurt me so?
Silent Hill 8 is obviously a working title. It's the eighth game in the series, it's pretty standard so I'm not sure how people are confused here. And Shattered Memories really wasn't a remake, definitely it's own game.

I'm gonna remain cautiously optimistic. The non Team S. Silent Hills have all had flaws, but they also did things right here or there. And what problem exactly did people have with the movie transition? Other than the fact that it came from the movie so the fans must hate it for some reason?

well it's made by Team Silent so I'll give it a chance, but I hope they actually make it an over the shoulder camera and not a middle of the back camera like what was in the trailer the main character was taking up too much viewing real estate for my liking.

SH
SH2
SH3
SH:The Room (Not really numbered but can be considered IV)
SH:O (Not numbered at all, but can be considered 0 being a prequel to 1 and all)
SH:H (The production title was SH:V)
That's still only six. And yes Shattered Memories is a remake of the first game. If you think it isn't then...well you should go back to trying to stay in the lines of a colouring book.
Have you played Shattered Memories? Doesn't sound like you have.

Silent Hill Origins is a game in the series as well. So they're counting it.

AGAIN, back to my original point. Working title. Eighth game in the series. Not rocket science.

Woah. Woah. Team Silent? Are you sure? I haven't heard anything of this but if that's the case... aren't they disbanded?

I also said (in a totally sarcastic manner) 'ooh look it's Alan Wake 2 already!' which was based on the rainy forest vibe at the beginning. I decided to delete my comment because I got told I was an idiot, that Alan Wake is 'nothing like this' and to die in a fire.

I think the boy may have been in love with me or something, he just didn't know how to express it. ;o)

It's a remake, not a port. The gameplay is different but it's still the same story, same character. It's the first game with different gameplay. That doesn't make it an entirely separate game. If you're counting pointless games then it's more the ninth or tenth then. There was a visual novel and the arcade game. There might have been more too that I just don't remember.
I'm counting any of the traditional console games that have hit in the US. I'm assuming that's what they counted when numbering this game, much like how when people number say Halo they're not counting the RTS game. Honestly, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on Shattered Memories. I'm not even talking gameplay though. The storyline was entirely different than the first Silent Hill. And characters (aside from names) were completely different as well.

Wouldn't tell you to die in a fire (I'm not that flirty) but I do think you may be jumping the gun on this trailer a bit. But I am ever the optimist. I'll admit Silent Hill as a franchise has pretty much done nothing but break my heart over the past few years.

Well, the movie like credits at the end of the trailer says a konami and team "silence" production, so I'm guessing it's some of the original members just a different team name.

But who knows I could be wrong, probably am but there's always hope.

Did abit of research, it's actually being made by Vatra games which is some company from the Czech Republic who hasn't done really much of anything so far... Team Silence? BIG words, Konami.

Side note: Also learned that the dude who does the music for Dexter is doing the soundtrack for this game. I mean, it's no Yamaoka, but it's actually kinda cool.

You know I still haven't got a clear idea on why Team Silent was ever disbanded in the first place. I mean, the first four games did well, haven't they? Only thing I can think is that Konami hates me personally with a fiery passion.

The trailer never says 'Silent Hill 8', they just call it Silent Hill, that's their working title. The number 8 is just brought up by journalists so they can file it correctly.
Shattered Memories is really hardly a remake, 'story is the same' seems to mean to you that the first five minutes are the same, the rest is mostly different. Obviously it's absolutely impossible to really discuss this with you, though, so fuck that.

OT: I don't know why Konami continues to release Silent Hill games. Right after Resident Evil's, Silent Hill's fans are about the biggest assholes on this planet and no matter what the developers do, it'll "never reach 1-3 / 1-2 / 2". This has less to do with quality and more with principle. I'd be pretty depressed if I was in their place.

Congratulations, you completely grasped what Silent Hill is all about - you've proven to be the developer's targeting audience.

Team Silent disbanded after SH2, but I don't know why any more. I think it was something about one designer dressing up as Pyramid Head and starting to rape and kill his colleagues but I don't quite remember.

Edit: Pardon the double post :/

If only I could help design it....so many ideas yet nobody to listen.
Not trying to offend you but there are about a billion game designers out there with great ideas, you're no exception. The problem is that part in between "having the idea" and "realizing the idea" and "money issues" is not the thing in between.
