I was surfing the web the other day and I stumbled upon a rumor that A silent hill 1 remake is coming to the Wii. I had mixed feeling about this however. I really like the Silent Hill franchise up until Origins, but I really don't like the Wii and think that the developer will make (un)use of the Wiimote. I'm curious what other people think of this? I can only be optimistically skeptical.
Edit:
Btw this is where I found it

Yay? I mean, I have SH1 for the PS1, but I may get this anyways...Couldn't play the original for long, though...Harry handled like a damned boat.

true, but it made the game scarier and more realistic, but then so did the camera angles and the bad graphics intensified the horror. gd game tho, however, have u seen dahlia on the wii-make (lol)? A teen girl with a dragon tattoo and piercings?! What were they thinking?! However, Harry looks awesome. XD

Prolly will suck on the Wii, but I'm being optimistic recently so I'm hoping it will be good, since i never played the silent hill games, my view wont be clouded

Wii is designed to be fun and kiddy. Silent Hill is dark and dangerous. The two don't really mix.
Say that to Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill.

I just hope they get the controls right, I couldn't handle the original one at all.

This could be a good game, but it would depend on how they change the game. Would access to better graphics ruin the horror theme, and if the graphics aren't improved, would there be comlaints about better graphics needed? Also, how will they adapt the controls to suit the Wiimote? These are all things I want to know about before looking at the game and deciding if it's worth checking out at least.

I think this game has the potential to shoot even Silent Hill 2 out of the water. The main focus of the game is psychological horror based on you. The game is going to watch how you play, what you say, and build a psychological profile on you. This profile is used to decide everything from in-game events to how the monsters look. If they go far enough with this feature, they will make the scariest game of this generation. Hands down.
