ok so Ive been playing more then a lil halo reach online recently since I got gold for 2 bucks for 2 months, anyway I play allot of firefight and rocket matches come up allot and it occurs to me how badly designed the rocket launcher in that game is


I mean look at it, why does it have 2 barrels? Why do the barrels rotate as it fires? why does the handle move when your getting ready to fire? why does it also look like when you reload it your putting in 2 new barrels?

the whole thing is amazingly badly thought out and much more complicated then it needs to be and it would be much more expensive to produce then a simpler design not to mention the duel barrels would make it heavy as hell.

so post some more weapons in games that are over engineered or just plan silly to the point of probably not working

Easy answer? Anything from that fps southpark game from the n64. Chicken launching eggs as a sniper rifle? What... Exactly are they doing to said chicken to get it to fire eggs at such a velocity? :eek:

I'm going to say the Gauss Flayers from Dawn of War Dark Crusade. I mean, they shoot green lightning instead of highspeed projectiles! Who looked up Gauss weaponry and thought "You know what this needs LIGHTNING!"

Its over complicated, bulky, and hard to handle, and very unreliable and unmodular looking.
Not suitable for an advanced alien race's "all purpose elites."

yeah that gun really didnt make sense, I mean it looks like the ammo for it is just these lil pellet things but you can only hold a lil bit of ammo for it which doesnt make any sense, I mean you can carry around like 300 rounds with the smg but only like 4 pellets?

Every shotgun in Bad Company 2 is ridiculously overpowered. I mean seriously, most of them nearly have the same range as a sub machine gun.

I would have to say the Rock-it Launcher in Fallout 3. It's the only game i've played where you can shoot a tea cup to kill a mutant.

Supposedly they were batteries for the gun. But if you remember the actual world model for the ammo it was that case on the side. The reload animation is just replacing that battery looking thing in the barrel, it really just doesn't make sense at all.

You have to remember all the other heavy, unmanageable stuff you're loaded down with in that game, too. The gravity gun alone would be a pain to carry.

OT:The Ullapool Caber from Team Fortress 2. It's a WWII era stick grenade. You run up and club people with it. Bad idea.

...That...that's how real shotguns work. They don't sent out a massive 'cloud' of pellets that totally miss anything farther than 5 feet away. They shoot a tight grouping with a pretty decent amount of accuracy. They use shotguns to shoot skeet, yanno.

problem is in bc2 people tend to use them with slugs and for some reason slugs are stupid accurate and deadly in that game, like sniper rifle deadly, one shot kill in hardcore mode

I appreciate what your saying but they're also called SHOTguns for a reason. When the cartridge or slug breaks apart it sends the shots in generally the same direction but because they're individual shots their penetrating power is drastically reduced which is why they are more effective at close range. Now I'm not suggesting that Bad Company should be the most realistic game in the world because that would just ruin the fun of it, but the shotties' damage should be reduced from a certain range, more for balance than anything else, because to be honest I'm getting sick of unloading a clip from an AR into some guy only for him to snipe me with a combat shottie. Other than that I love the game
