Silly reasons for not playing a game

I sometimes don't play games because 'everyone else loves it' like the ff series lol. But wait, i have worse, a friend of mine refuses to play my fps games because she 'doesn't where the guns spawn' in verses. Still worse, she won't even play co-op cuz she 'doesn't know what the guns are or what they do' lol
Same friend insists i play mortal combat with her when i have no idea how to play any of them. Insisting so much becuause My mortal combat style games have too many combo's (virtua fighter 5) or 'the characters were WAY faster in the 2nd game, they are super slow and sluggish here' (soul calibur 4).
On the topic of bad graphics as a reason, she refused to watch my friend play Manhunt for ps2, or listen to him explain the story and game play, because 'the graphics are horrible, it looks like lego-block pple' lol

Depending on your views on emulation, this may sound either silly or perfectly valid.
A common reason for not playing a game I give is that my emulator for whatever platform the game is on can't run it yet (or in some cases, doesn't yet have a working emulator (Xbox family, I'm looking at you)).

Not to that degree. I could play MM without playing OoT first (assuming I ever wanted to touch MM again, which I don't). And I can just pop in any Mega Man game and have a go. It's only when the stories are very tightly connected that I feel the need to start at the first game. Take Golden Sun for example, I wanted to replay that so I had to start with the first one. You can't just start on The Lost Age because that actually is half-way through the story.PhunkyPhazon said:

Oh and the "I won't play mainstream games" shit too. Yay. We have this silly "indie only" crap for music, and now we get it for games too. Joy. I'm all for some indie games if they are good (example, Limbo is good, "Your 360 controller is now a vibrating sex aid" is horrid), but sometime the games made at high profile studios sell piles and piles of copies because they're really really good. When people say crap like they won't try Red Dead Redemption because "It's mainstream crap only played by frat boys" I want to start injuring people.
Dumb reasons I won't play a game? The only thing I can think of that might count is that I'll never be buying any games from Good Old Games because I didn't appreciate their little publicity stunt where they claimed the service was going offline because they couldn't keep it running anymore.

Mainly I havent because i dont like Microsoft as a gaming console. I believe they should only work in PCs. No, dont ask me why I think that or how i came to that conclusion, it doesnt make sense to me either. Plus I have an absolute hatred of Halo and anyhting that associates itself with it (my friends and I blew up a 360 with recon armour profile when the friend who owned it wanted to get a PS3, and we torched the swag stuff with it. One of those halo 3 collectible things), so you... theres that.

Haha! This is pretty much my reason for neglecting it too. A friend bought me the main game and the first extension and I refused to play because I knew I would lose my life to it. I played enough at her house to realise this would happen so I had to use the excuse that as a student - it wouldn't be feasible for me to start.Father Tunde said:

The silliest reason ever for me not playing a game was when there was a clown dancing and juggling on it.
Achievements/trophies. I know it's not exactly 'silly' but my friend did create a completely seperate profile to play Shellshock 2 because he didn't want people or himself to see he had played it.
If cockroaches in any way shape or form are an enemy; If there was an overly obvious attempt at making the male character attractive, manly, or heroic; If they the protagonist has an already decided love interest; If there is they give you different combat options but you already know there is only one that is efficient to play with (I'm looking at YOU Fallout 3).
I'll play just about anything now that I have Gamefly, thats right game-industry, I don't pay for my shit anymore.
Other than the cockroaches I'm not sure you know what you are talking about, NOBODY in Fallout 3 looks good, you don't have to play a male, there are no love interests, and I was able to make a charecter that was awesome with just about every type of combat but explosives.FernandoV said:
