Silly reasons for not playing a game

Lately I've been feeling like playing Zelda: Majora's Mask, but I can't bring myself to do that without playing Ocarina of Time first. Why? Because MM is a direct sequel, so it feels like I'm starting a game halfway through the overall story. I know it's stupid, just because you're the same character doesn't mean the stories themselves are all that connected. Does anyone have this 'sequel conundrum' as I'm calling it?

And what other dumb reasons do you have or have heard for not wanting to play a game?

I don't want to play Bayonetta because I don't like the music.

I won't play any game that's disc and instruction booklet smell funny.
I like my game smell the way it is.

I tend not to play indie games because as their name implies their indie games.

That and indie fans sometimes act like jerks towards more the more mainstream games and their fans.

RDR because they made a zombie DLC, I dispise anything that tosses away its main premise for zombies.

That makes perfect sense to me.

Zombies. I'm sick of them. I don't even want to watch films with them in.
If the instruction manuals aren't all present I'll play it but I won't be happy.

I can't really think of silly reasons for not playing a game since I'll try any game once then tell you how I like it, hell I tried NHL 10 even though I abhor sports games and actually liked it

No, my silly reason is my tendency to shun the new IP for sequels to franchises that have proven their worth to me. I don't always do this though; I'm looking forward to Rage and Bulletstorm next year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. Every time I hear someone shun a franchise I like for some new IP I automatically start disliking it.

I do the same thing with pretty much everything - games, movies, books... I just have to start the franchise from the start or I have a nagging feeling I'm missing out on a lot of awesomeness.

Different sexuality? Are there even any games with an openly homosexual protagonist? I can't think of a single one.

Someone who only plays CoD wondered why I'd want to play games like Halo since "they're so unrealistic", and then he proceeded to mock Legend of Zelda, thinking it must be a childish game it if has a 7+ rating.

It's not that childish, it just hasn't got controversial material.
