hey remember that peekaboo thing parents used to do with their kinds, and the kids believed their parents were gone until they opened their hands again? Yeah it doesn't get more silly than that.
Well yes, and when you get older and realize that you used to get suckered into that, you feel silly. This, it is a silly thing I believed as a child/infant.

I think I'll let the late George Carlin take it from here as I don't want to mess up what he said:

I used to believe that Steve Burns killed himself after leaving Blue's Clues. And that Santa Claus died in a helicopter crash (funny way for me to stop believing in Santa).

Bed Sheets = Invincible force field

Though once I realized the army wasn't going to use my bedsheets as high class armour it became clear to me that something about that was wrong

I used to believe in religion due entirely to childhood indoctrination (like most Christians). But luckily I can think for myself now.

Also, I used to think that Nintendo were the only people making games.

Remember the "Alien" movies? When the little ones would break through the persons chest to get out? I used to put duct tape on my chest every night so that it wouldn't happen to me.

Same here. It really started when I found these pictures of Bigfoot. You know... these ones:

Oh God!
NONONONONONONONONO!

As a kid i used to love to watch a show called Unsolved Mysteries.

And no matter how many sleepless nights i had after watching an episode about a Haunting or mysteries creatures i still came back for more.

Pictures like that one freaked me out as a kid and i still liked it.

I used to know for an ABSOLUTE FACT that there was a monster that lived under my bed and if I got too close it would grab me by my ankles and yank me into a hole and eat me. To get into bed at night I'd have to fling myself across the room, and every time my stuffed dog fell under the bed I would yell for my parents to come rescue him (parents, of course, were immune to monster attacks).

I thought my dog could fly, & when she did an antenna like the one on our car would pop out of her head.
Oh goodness, that's adorable.

I used to always want to stay up on Christmas and look for Santa, but my parents would never let me. I had a book written by "Scribbler Elf" and I used to get in fights with my friends at school, who told me that Santa wasn't real. My friend said her parents told her when she was five. I never believed her, yet I believed The Polar Express. I thought she had lost her magic.. xD
Once I found out that Santa wasn't real, I bawled. I was crushed. AND, to boot, I was at my friend's house when I learned. It was a rough day for me.
