Wow. A lot of people don't like the newer episodes. I can understand why but I still like them.

Series 6-8 was the golden age. Anytrhing after that was gonig downhill. Slowly at first, but then faster and faster.

I liked the older episodes a lot more and I feel that the newer seasons have let themselves down. However it still has some funny moments.

Used to love it, haven't watched it in ages though, due to repeating jokes that made me bored.

No I don't get upset over the inconsistencies any longer. In fact, I no longer care at all. The Simpsons jumped the shark in my eyes almost a decade and a half ago and I very rarely watch the new ones. Not that there hasn't been any good ones since then, but there are many more bad ones.

I enjoyed it for a good while especially the Treehouse of Horror specials but now it's like they're not even trying and the good idea's have run out.

I love the older episodes. I rarely watch new episodes these days and when I do I generally just sit there thinking "WTF am I watching?"

I don't get the hate for the show. I think that the old episodes are utter crap and it's gotten a lot better and still is.

It did falter over time, and some episodes nowadays are particularly rubbishy, but even at it's worst The Simpsons still fares better than clones such as Family Guy, that copy all the superficial aspects of The Simpsons but don't really understand how and why the humour aspect of it works.
Family Guy is commonly considered to a rip-off of The Simpsons, but I have to say I don't buy it. Aside from being an animated sitcom about a nuclear family, the two shoes are completely different in tone, humor, and characterization. You could use the exact same logic to claim King of the Hill is a Simpsons rip-off.

I have loved The Simpsons for a very long time. It's definitely gone downhill in recent years, but I keep watching it and hoping it will get good again. After all, a crappy Simpsons episode is still better than most of American television. The inconsistencies don't bother me, it's a cartoon, after all.
This, most definitely

I've never seen Simspon, but in The Simpsons, consistencies are a major part and they do not annoy in me any way.

Every episode can pretty much be a stand alone, in my opinion. There's no particular depth to the Simpsons so there's not really any reason for continuity between plotlines either. Like Scooby Doo - just how many "uncles" did Velma have? It doesn't matter.

I really don't care if the shows consistency goes off a little, I'm still a humongous Simpsons fan( I do wish they still had Futurama though)

Which one? Some are good, some are decent, some are terrible.
I cant remember the name.

You can play as the family + Apu for some reason.

You drive cars around and steal them and stuff.
