Since Nintnedo will soon cease production on the Wii, what are the must have games on the system?

Hmm... there are quite a few.

Some of my favorites are (excluding ones you already own):
Monster Hunter Tri
Super Smash Bros Brawl (a must have)
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Little King's Story
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (if you liked the first one this one's even better)
Metroid Prime 3 (I'd recommend the Metroid Prime Trillogy Collection, but I think that was only being released for a limited time.)
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Mega Man 9 and 10 are available for download and those are pretty good
Muramasa: the Demon Blade (the artwork in this one is amazing)

There are some other good ones, but these are the absolute best. And that's not even counting all the great classic games you can download, along with lots of great GameCube titles which are compatible with the system.

Wii U is backwards compatible.
And of course there's this. But that's ignoring that it's not backwards compatible with the GameCube, so if you just get a Wii U without having either a GameCube or a Wii you're missing out on a lot of classic titles.

Pandora's Tower, seriously one of the best games I've ever played.
The Last Story.
Xenoblade Chronicles
Super Smash Bros (obviously)
Resident Evil 4 (works great with a Wiimote so it's worth checking out simply for a good controller scheme)
Monster Hunter Tri.

Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Tales of Symphonia
I've heard Fire Emblem is good and going to try it out sooner or later
Smash Bros
MetroidPrime
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Zelda
Mario
MonsterHunterTri
WiiSports?
Rayman Origins

and there are more I just cant remember

Is that so?
Without spoiling too much will it continue after the Towers?
Because I am playing it and think I have 2 towers left and so far I don't think it's anything special, kind of boring and repetative in my taste. Loved Last Story and Xenoblade to the bone but this one isn't just grabbing me.

Probably just not your kind of game then, I wont tell you anything besides that. I have no idea of how I would rate it in comparison to Xenobalde and The Last Story though.

Also how could I forget Tales of Symphonia? I love the entire series so much I bought an Xbox 360 just because I ehard Tales of Vesperia was coming out and I am going to buy a PS3 just because it got Tales of Graces and will get Tales of Xillia. Too early in the morning for my brain to work I guess.

Wait I thought Nintendo said they planned to continue supporting the Wii. Did they actually state that they will stop production of it soon?

Donkey Kong Country Returns
Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen (aka Fatal Frame 4, the best horror game on the Wii by far)
Mario Kart Wii (but make sure you have a classic controller, because the wheel peripheral for this game is awful)
The House of the Dead : Overkill
The Last Story (this game is brilliant - I highly recommend it)
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Resident Evil 4 (because this game is awesome on any console)
Red Steel 2
MadWorld
No More Heroes 1 & 2
Muramasa : The Demon Blade
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (duh)
Little King's Story

Since you own both of the Zeldas, can I suggest Okami? It's easily the best Zelda game never made.

How did you get 'Nintendo is making a smaller version of the Wii' to equal 'Nintendo is not going to make the Wii'?

Seconded. I really enjoyed it and I played Shadow of the Colossus this year as well. The best part for me is the Masters which had their own interesting behaviour but seeing Elena doing different things when you come back to the observatory is pretty cool. Although the combat could have been better, the chain is a fun weapon if you want it to be. I felt guilty letting Elena change and I didn't expect the ending. I found it memorable anyway.

Just started The Last Story. Hope I enjoy it as much.

Here's a question I have. I've had no interest in the Wii since release, but there has been some Wii games that came out that did catch my eye. So if I get a Wii U and decided to get some Wii games. What should I get?

Oh, and, I don't want any game that forces me to use that stupid wag stick. For instance I'd like to play Twilight Princess, but a friend of mine told me I have to use the wag stick because a normal control won't work. Fucking disappointing if you as me.

-_-
