I saw that picture a few days ago on a "Scantily dressed female designs are getting ridiculous" thread, but I didn't even connect it to HarleyQuinn. I thought it was some other Harley from some franchise I didn't know.
That's HarleyQuinn? What the freaking hell? That's awful! It doesn't gel with her character at all! It's like she was ripped out of a Mortal Kombat game or something.
Christ I couldn't be more disappointed. So far all I've seen is purple-spandex batman, lumberjack superman and now Dead or Alive reject HarleyQuinn. Great.

The hair is neat and I don't have a problem with her losing the hat, but I find the costume pretty boring (and given that they kept the neck ruffle rather ridiculous). I don't have a problem with a superheroine in sexy attire but this is surprisingly bland.
Please say someone read my massive over-simplification of DC continuity in the other thread, please...
As to this redesign, I'm unsure. I liked her redesign in Arkham Asylum and this seems mostly like more of the same. But on the other hand this is like going a little too far with more of the same.
The top needs to be at least a tank top, and not open at the front, the shorts need to be trousers not shorts, and when will people realise that Harley's hair is blonde? She wears a hat and mask, she does not dye her hair.
But otherwise, apart from minor quibbles I'm pretty okay with this as redesign.
